Lawrence and Martin County Soccer Find Success at Bluegrass State Games;
Martin County and Lawrence Youth Soccer teamed up and participated in the Bluegrass State games in July. The teams were all very successful in the event posting a combined record of 8 wins and 2 losses.
Lawrence County Youth Soccer hopes to continue this successful tradition and will be having league signups on Saturday, August 9 and Saturday, August 16 from 9am -12pm at the Louisa United Methodist Church.
The Red Rage, coached by Bobby Hale and Scott Johnson, had a record of 3-1 with the only loss coming at the hands of the tournament champions. They competed in the U10 intermediate division and earned the bronze medal. Players from Martin County included: Bobby Hale, Logan Cline, Ethan “Doodle” Frey, Reece Merrill, Logan Southers, and Isaiah Zuidema. Lawrence County players included: Montana Frazier, Joey Moore, Luke Johnson, Caroline Hensley, Camren Christian, and Morrison Chicko.
U10 Red Rage
The LC Little Lady Bulldogs remained undefeated in the Bluegrass games. They scored 27 goals against their opponents and allowed 0 goals scored against them. Coached by Melissa Elliott, Sharon Sparks, and Molly Johnson, this team outclassed their competitors. Team members included: Emersyn Elliott, Ashlynn Elliott, Maggie Johnson, Hannah Sparks, Lena Hale, Laura Hale, Claire Johnson, Annie Frazier, and Sophie McCoy.
U8 Little Lady Dawgs
The LC Lightning participated in the U8 Open division. They went 2-1 in the state games and outscored their opponents 20-11. The Lightning were coached by Myram Brady and Jason Elliott. Players include: Curtis Brown, Michael Preston, Ryland Brady, Luis Chicko, Collin Hensley, Blake Maynard, Carlo Chicko, and Andrew Vinson.
