Eagle Ridge Golf League News
Tuesday, June 17, was our first day of truly summer weather, hot, but not particularly so on the course, with the breeze and shade of the trees. We are so fortunate to have this championship course, yet one need not play golf to enjoy it as a nature preserve. Rabbits, squirrels, turkeys, and deer were seen everywhere, in the clearings or peeking from the woods. There were several hawks perched in the trees, looking for their next meal, and high above an eagle soared. Once, we stopped and just watched a doe and her fawn feeding in a fairway. These scenes were playing to the background music sung by the birds. It made me wonder why so many of us, including me, don’t take the time to enjoy the wonders of nature.
This is the next to last report until the Bermuda grass is sprigged and the course is “not car path only.” During this refurbishing period, the course will be open to the public, including the driving range, putting green, all golf lessons, and 18-hole play. In addition, after 12-weeks, it is time for changing handicaps and reporting of the league leaders in championship points and those in the skills competition, making this report longer than unusual.
Now here are Tuesday’s results.

Have a good week and at times, especially when suffering under the pressures of life, take a deep breath and look at what God provided for you. I am going to try to enjoy the same.
