‘Reality Show’ not named, but KSP says individuals engaged in trafficking and possession of controlled substances in show

(Ashland, KY) – The Kentucky State Police have arrested two individuals from Carter and Elliot Counties after the airing of a reality television episode.
On December 10th, 2013 The Kentucky State Police was contacted by The Carter County Attorneys Office and advised about the airing of a reality television show. The County Attorney’s Office advised the episode had aired on December 9th, 2013 and captured numerous violations of law.
The Kentucky State Police, with the assistance of The Carter County Attorney’s Office began an investigation into the criminal activity shown on camera.
During the episode individuals engage in trafficking and possession of controlled substances and also place juveniles in unsafe positions. After investigation arrest warrants were obtained for Cortney J. Howard and David Robert Nickell.
On December 20, 2013 Cortney J. Howard, age 26, of Grayson KY, was arrested and lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with:
Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense
Endangering the Welfare of a Minor
Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disp All Others Under $500.00
Nickell charged with one count
On December 20, 2013 David R. Nickell, age 33, of Grayson KY, was arrested lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with:
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
The investigation is ongoing by Detective Jeff Kelley and additional charges are pending.
