“Our baseball program had a great week in Bluffton, SC participating in the BatR UP Invitational Spring Break Tournament. Our Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman Teams all participated playing eight games in three days as the Varsity and JV got rained out on Thursday,” said LC head coach Travis Feltner. “The JV went 1-2 playing some very stiff competition and our Freshman Team went 2-0 against local schools. It was a great experience for our young players to get out and play against teams from other parts of the country and get to spend a week on and off the field with the older players in our program.”

Coach Feltner said, “We look at these trips as valuable team building time, and I can’t speak high enough of our seniors insuring that this happened. I really feel like our team grew both on and off the field this week and our hope is, this will propel us into the grind part of our schedule.”
Varsity ended up going 3-0 having made it to the championship game of the tournament against St. Joseph Catholic School (Greenville, SC) the two time defending State Champions in South Carolina. The game was called before becoming an official game due to heavy rain fall.
“We officially finished runners-up in the tourney and had four players make the All-Tourney Team,” Coach Feltner said. “I am very proud of these outstanding young men for their play on the field and their behavior all week off of it. We had a great week started by attending a local church for Easter Service on Sunday attended by all of our players, coaches, and several family members,” said Feltner.
LC is back in action today, April 9th as they travel to take on District foe the Sheldon Clark Cardinals. The Cardinals will make the trip to Randy Keeton Field on Wednesday, April 10th as the JV will play at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00pm.
