Two from Lawrence injured in coal truck wreck on 23
Two people were seriously injured when a coal truck struck an SUV driven by Willie Dean Hylton was struck by a coal truck driven by Virgil Plummer from Salyersville Friday morning.
Hylton was making a left turn into Louisa from US 23 when according to witnesses Plummer ran the stoplight striking Hyltons vehicle on the passenger side causing serious injury to his daughter Mary Ann Stratton.
Plummer was traveling northbound when the incident occurred.
Stratton suffered several serious injuries. Family members said both Strattons were recovering from the injuries.
Both Stratton and Hylton are from Fallsburg.
