Rev. Msgr. Ralph W. Beiting

1924 - 2012

Rev. Msgr. Ralph W. Beiting 88 of Louisa, KY passed away Wednesday August 9, 2012 at Kings Daughters Medical Center following a brief illness.

Msgr. Beiting was born Jan. 1, 1924 at Newport, KY, the son of the late Ralph T. and Martha C. Hiance Beiting. He was ordained Diaconate at the Shrine of Immaculate Conception, 1948, Catholic University in Washington by Most Reverend Bishop McNamara; Priesthood at the Cathedral Basilica, Covington, June 4, 1949 by Most Reverend Bishop William T. Mulloy. In 1957 he founded with permission of Bishop Mulloy the Cliffview Lodge in Garrad County with the purpose being to care for the children of the mountain area of Kentucky. In 1962 with permission of Bishop Ackerman he founded the Christian Appalachian Project. He also authored several books on Appalachia during his lifetime.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters Jim Beiting, Doris Beiting, Jerry Beiting, Rose Beiting, Sr. Mary Martha Beiting, Ann Schadle,and Mary Lou Deavy. He was preceded in death by sister Dorothy Noll and brothers Raymond and Paul Beiting.

Visitation for Msgr. Beiting will be held on Saturday August 11, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Saint Jude Catholic Church Louisa, KY; Reception of the Body and Vespers-Evening Prayers of the Church will be at 4:00 pm Sunday at the Holy Family Catholic Church 900 Winchester Ave. Ashland, KY with visitation from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday August 13, at 11:00 am at the Holy Family Catholic Church Ashland, KY. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 14, at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church at Cold Spring, KY beginning at 8:30 am to 11:00 am with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Saint Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Fr. Beiting Appalacian Mission Fund for the Mountain Missions.

Emily Price, 78, of Ulysses, Ky. passed away Wednesday, August 8 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul G. Price, two daughters; Donna Jean Rose, Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Sherry Ellen Clevenger, Wittensville, Ky., two sons; Paul E. Price, Ulysses, Ky., and Jeffory Thomas Price, also of Ulysses, two sisters; Loraine Honeycutt, Warsaw, Indiana and Geneva Newsome, also of Warsaw, Indiana, and one brother; Charles Hale of Spartansville, Tennessee. She also has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday August 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, Inc. Louisa, Ky. with Rev. Doug Kistner officiating.

Albert Franklin Bloomfield

1966 - 2012

Albert Franklin Bloomfield, age 45, a resident of East Maple St. in Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Bloomfield was born November 27, 1966 in Portsmouth, Ohio the son of the late Robert and Julia Marie Smith-Bloomfield. Also, proceeding in death are brother Morris C. Bloomfield and Gary Wayne Bloomfield.

Mr. Bloomfield was employed as Deputy Jailer of Magoffin County, Kentucky. He was also involved and certified in Search and Recovery Diving, an EMT, Christian Appalachian Project, and Father Biding Appalachian Mission Center. He was also a member of the St. Jude's Catholic Church of Louisa, Kentucky, Honorary Member of Tip Top Baptist Church of Tip Top, Kentucky, and the Apperson Masonic Lodge #195 F&AM of Louisa, Kentucky.

Funeral services for Albert Franklin Bloomfield will be conducted Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Comforting words will be delivered by clergy Tim Watkins. Burial will follow the service in the Bailey Cemetery in Tip Top, Kentucky.

The family will welcome friends Wednesday from 6:00 till 10:00 PM, Thursday from 10:00 AM till 10:00 PM, and anytime prior to the funeral service. Masonic Rites will be given by the Apperson Lodge #195 F&AM of Louisa, Kentucky Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 7:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. En leau of flowers the family has asked to make donations to the Albert Bloomfield Memorial Fund at the funeral home.

Norma Maude Cook

1924 - 2012

Norma Maude Cook, age 88, of Quincy, KY formerly of Louisa went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center of Ashland, KY.  Norma was born April 4, 1924 in Inez, KY. She is the daughter of the late Bascom and the late Effie (Hickman) Preston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Olie Cook, who died in 1993 and two sons, Jerry and Terry Cook.

She was a homemaker and member of the Pack Bottom Church.

She is survived by five sons;  Olie Robert Cook  and wife Sue of Louisa, KY, James Mitchell Cook and wife Georgia of Orient, OH, Lowell Dean Cook of Louisa, KY, Eugene Cook of Quincy, KY, Richard Cook and wife Doris of Louisa, KY,  one sister;  Elsie Kirk of Columbus, OH,  ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great great granddaughter..

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Sunday, August 5 at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Lonnie Ratliff officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery Louisa, KY.

Lorenza Wesley Childress

 1943 - 2012

 Lorenza Wesley Childress, age 68, of Louisa died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Kings Daughters Medical Center of Ashland, KY.  Lorenza was born December 11, 1943 in Sumter County Alabama. He is the son of the late Wilson and the late Nancy (Dotson) Childress.  He was a retired Coal Miner.

He is survived by his girlfriend of 17 years, Bobbi Jo Jude and son Robert Cedric Jude, daughter Loren Sierra Marie Jude who all held his hand until the end. Additional survivors are his extended family, a son and daughter Milton A. Walters and Denise Kimbrough; brothers James Child, Wilson Childress Jr., and Danny Childress; sisters Bessie Childs and Faye Snelson.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, August 4 at Wilson Funeral Home 1270 Hwy 2565, Louisa, KY with Bro. Dewey Jude officiating.  Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery, Pilgrim , Kentucky.

Brenda Kay Johnson Cyrus

Brenda Kay Johnson Cyrus, 64, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at her home. She was born October 11, 1948 in Louisa, Ky., a daughter of the late Clyde and Ruby Boggs Johnson. She was a retired beautician.

Survivors include three sons; Jimmy R. Cyrus II, and Joey Cyrus both of Louisa, Ky., and Morgan Cyrus of Colorado, one brother; Larry Johnson of Catlettsburg, Ky. and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, July 30, 2012 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at the Cyrus Cemetery, Louisa, Ky. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

Jackie Woodrow Mahon

1960 - 2012

Jackie Woodrow Mahon, 52, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his home. He was born February 24, 1960 in Williamson, W.Va., a son of the late Greenway and Georgia Tuty Mahon. He was a Purchasing Agent for Argosy Energy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Luther Mahon.

Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Alicia Kay Stiltner Mahon of Louisa, Ky.; one daughter, LaTasha Green of Morristown, Tenn.; one sister, Maxine Varney of Reedsville, NC.; five brothers, Paul Mayhon, Samford, NC, Holland Mayhon, Burlington, NC, Tony Mahon of Ragland, W.Va., Teddy Mahon, also of Ragland, W.Va. and David Mahon, Delton, FL.; one special niece, Louella Mattingly, Louisa, Ky.; one granddaughter, Alli Green; one grandson, Jacob Green; special father and mother-in-law, Steve and Virginia Stiltner of Morristown, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law. Kenneth and Agnes Stiltner, Milton, W.Va.; sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Ronald Newsome, Kermit, W.Va.; nieces, Keshia Perry of Wilsondale, W.Va. and Courtney Newsome of Madison, W.Va.; nephew Ken Stiltney, Omaha, Neb.

Edward Ray Dowden

1942 - 2012

Edward Ray Dowden, 69, of Prichard, W.Va. passed away July 23, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. after a short illness. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the Community Chapel Church. Born August 7, 1942 in Chatteroy, W.Va., a son of the late Kelly and Martha Davis Dowden, he was a mechanic by trade. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Imogene Miller Dowden, two daughters; SamanthaJean Smith, Prichard, W.Va., and Melanie Raye (Charles) Radcliff, Louisa, Ky., one son, Kelly James Dowden of Charleston, W.Va., two sisters; Bonnie Sue Fry, of Georgia and Connie Gail Martin, Jackson, Ohio, four grandchildren; Angela Smith, James Smith, Brandi Radcliff, and Lakin Radcliff. Also one great grandchild, Jacob Smith.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Young Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wally Smith and Rev. Rudy Crockett officiating. Burial will follow at Copley Cemetery, Trace Branch of Ft. Gay, W.Va. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

James Ray Jarrell

1932 - 2012

James Ray Jarrell, 80, of Ft. Gay, West Virginia passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at his home. He was born October 11, 1932 in Inez, Ky. a son of the late George and Lena Copley Jarrell. James was a construction worker and a Mason and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Perry Jarrell who passed away in 2007. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Helen Chaffins, Gertrude Gauze and Ruby Farrell, and brothers George Jarrell, Jr., and Kenneth Jarrell.

Survivors include one son; James Ray Jarrell, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, one brother; Clyde Jarrell of Groveport, Ohio, one sister; Glenedith Jarrell of Inez, Ky.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Everett Meddings and Howard Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington, W.Va. with Young Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of arrangements.

Joann Stone Hylton

1946, 2012

Joann Stone Hylton, age 66, of Louisa died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at home in Louisa. Joann was born January 13, 1946 in Louisa, KY. She was the daughter of the late William Lee and the late Rebecca (Barker) Stone.

She was a Homemaker and member of the Belles Chapel FWB Church and attended Fallsburg Tabernacle.

She is survived by her husband: Willie Dean Hylton  and two daughters; Stella Mae Hylton of Louisa, KY, Mary Ann Stratton and husband Chris of Louisa, KY,  Sister of three sisters; Maggie Thompson of Louisa, KY, Brady Robertson of Louisa, KY, Dorothy Bailey of Marysville, OH., and two brothers; Francis Bill Stone of Louisa, KY, Dalton Stone of Columbus, OH; She also has one grandson, Christopher Dean Stratton of Louisa, KY; special  nieces,  Mary Carter; Machelle Stratton; and Sherry Mosley.

Preceded in death by her sisters, Bessie Lee Short and Goldie Cantrell Stevens, and brothers Homer Jay Cantrell and Charles Stone.

Mack Daniel Lemaster, Sr.

1933 - 2012

Mack Daniel Lemaster, Sr.,79, of Louisa, Ky. went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 12, 2012 after an extended illness at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. He was born Feb. 28, 1933 in Louisa, a son of the late Daniel and Nola Maynard Lemaster. Mack retired from local 181 out of Ashland, Ky. Mack served the Lord for 35 years faithfully and would tell everyone whom would listen about his Heavenly Father.

Survivors include, his loving wife of 8 1/2 yrs. Eloise (Robertson) Lemaster whom stood by his beside until the end. Four sons, Rick and his wife Rhonda of Louisa, Ky.; Mack D. Jr. (Mackie) and wife Debra (Debbie) of Louisa, Ky.; Oscar R. and wife Joyce of Louisa, Ky. ; Gary W. and wife Jessica of Louisa, ky.; one step son, R. Michael and wife Meshellia of Genoa, W.Va.; two daughters, Karen A. (Lemaster)  Nelson and husband Greg of Louisa, ky.; Mary E. (Lemaster) Adkins and husband Larry Jr. of Fort Gay, W. Va.; one step daughter, Dreama (Wilson) Perry and husband Travis of Genoa, W. Mack had 14 Grandchildren, 6 Great- Grandchildren and 4 Step- Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, brother- in- laws and sister- in- laws whom stood by him until the end and Hospice was there throught it all. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Virginia A. (Branham) Lemaster; sister, Cloe (Lemaster) Holt; brothers, Ceil and Wayne Lemaster.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday July 16, 2012 at Smith Chapel Church, Louisa, Ky. with Gary L. Robertson and Greg Caudill officiating. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Smith Chapel. Burial will follow at the Fairchild-Lemaster Cemetery.

Gladys Diamond

 

Gladys Diamond, 89, of Fallsburg, Ky. died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

She was the wife of the late Ray Diamond, and the daughter of the late Smith Adams, Sr. and Ida Berry Adams.

She is survived by her four children, Regina Tackett of Fallsburg, Duke  *Jeanie Diamond of Louisa, Ky., Raymona (Turman) Meadows of Lexington, Ky., and Pam (Phil) Wilson of Louisa, Ky., eight grandchildren; Jennifer Bentley, Kenneth Doyle Tackett, April Hovis, Kerry Henderson, Phillip John Wilson, Anna Prince, Keegan Meadows, Amanda Martin, and eleven great grandchildren, and various nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Diamond was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Henderson Burchett and one grandson, Jacob Lane Bush, three brothers; Jay, Jack, and Smith Adams Jr. and one sister, Eva.

The family will receive family and friends at Young Funeral Home at Louisa, Ky. at 4:00 pm, July 12, 2012.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 13 at 11:00 am at the Austin Diamond Cemetery at Fallsburg, Ky. with Rev. Roy T. Adams officiating.

Juanita Mae Workman Johns

1936 - 2012

Juanita Mae Workman Johns, 76, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Monday July 9, 2012 at Community Hospice in Ashland, Ky. after a short illness. Born May 26, 1936 at Zelda, Ky., she was a daughter of the late John and Lillie Hampton Workman. She was a loan officer for Paintsville Loan Company during her working years. She was also a member of the Rebeka Lodge and the Louisa Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter; Sandra (Leon) Hataway, Granite Falls, N.C., one son; Clyde Gene (Robin) Johns, Catlettsburg, Ky., two sisters; Wilma Ruth Douglas, Tollesboro, Ky., and Thelma Zag, Columbus, Ohio, two brothers; Jay Workman, Zelda, Ky. and Claude Workman, Ashland, Ky., six grandchildren; Breanne Hataway, Trenton Hataway, Taylar Hataway, Whitney Genee' Johns, Jacqui L. Johns, and Gabriel G. Johns.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday July 11, 2012 at Buchannan Chapel, Zelda, Ky. with Rev. Keith Workman and Rev. Frank Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Buchannan Chapel Cemetery, Zelda, Ky. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

Jimmy Dee Johnson

1980 - 2012

Jimmy Dee Johnson, 32, of Louisa, Ky died July 8, 2012 after a sudden illness. He was a construction worker at C.J. Hughes Construction Co., Inc.

He was born March 18, 1980 in Ashland, Ky., a son of Joseph and Linda Orders Johnson of Ft. Gay, W.Va, who survive.

Other survivors include his loving wife Rachelle Bowen Johnson, of Louisa, Ky., one daughter; Shaylin Johnson, Louisa, Ky., two sons; Dakota Johnson, Louisa, Ky. and Austin Johnson, Louisa, Ky., one sister; Amy Riffe, Louisa, Ky., three brothers; Joseph Alan Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson and Joshua Johnson, all of Ft. Gay, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday July 10, 2012 at Young Funeral Chapel, Louisa, Ky.  with pastor Jim Muncy officiating. Burial will follow Ft. Gay Church of God in Christ Jesus, Ft. Gay, W.Va. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

Estil C. Lawson

1977 - 2012

Estil C. Lawson, 34, of Calico Rd. Louisa, Ky. died suddenly Thursday July 5, 2012 after an accident. He was born July 6, 1977 in Louisa, a son of the late Edison and Gretta Vanover Lawson. He was disabled. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Amos Vanover.

Survivors include his fiance, Karen Sue Cyrus, Louisa, Ky., daughter; Jennifer Cyrus, Ft. Gay, W.Va., two sisters; Janie Booth, Wayne, W.Va., and Jennie Johnson, Louisa, Ky. 

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Monday July 9, 2012 at Lawson Family Cemetery, Louisa, Ky. with Rev. Tommy Adams officiating. Visitation will be 10 am - 12 noon Monday at the gravesite.

Frieda Carol Kelley

1949 - 2012

Frieda Carol Kelley, 63, of Williamson, W.Va. died Wednesday, July 4th , at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky. after an extended illness. Frieda was born April 29,1949, in Louisa, Ky.  to Willie Ray and Barbara Boys Spears who survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Hanshaw.

She was a Court Marshall for  Mingo County Circuit  Court and a member of Salt Petre Christian Baptist Church.

Other survivors in addition to her parents are her husband, Colin Kelley of Williamson, W. Va., one daughter, Amanda (Terry) Kelley Jackson of Columbus, Ohio, one son, Colie (Shelley) Kelley of Williamson, W.Va., parents, William Ray and Barbara Spears of Fort Gay, W. Va., two brothers, Buck (Patty) Spears and Billy (Tammy) Spears, both of Fort Gay, W. Va., three grand-children, Malia, Jaylon, and Chloe Kelley.

1912 - 2012

Bessie L. Reed, 100, Louisa, Ky. died peacefully July 1 at JJ Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa, she was 100 years old. Born March 24, 1912 in Louisa, a daughter of John Reed and Georgia Allison. She was a homemaker and housekeeper and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Millie Carr, 84, of Buffalo Horn Road, Louisa, Ky. passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa, Ky. She was born July 8, 1927 to Daniel Boone Maynard and Rosella Simpson Maynard of Louisa, Ky. Millie was a housewife and a member of the Pack Bottom United Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosa Darlene Burke of Louisa, Ky., and Kathy Meggitt of Bellview, Ohio. Also one son, Waymond Dale Carr of Louisville, Ky., five Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Thomas Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Cemetery in Donathan, Ky. Visitation is Thursday July 5, 2012 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home.  Family will gather at 4:00 p.m.

Walter Lenton Rickman

1942 - 2012

Walter Lenton Rickman, 70, of Catlettsburg Rd, Ky. died suddenly Friday June 29, 2012. Mr. Rickman was born February 23, 1942 in Louisa, a son of the late Walter and Emmagee Nunnely Rickman. He was a mechanic for Valley Poultry, Inc.

Surviving is his loving wife, Ethel Pridemore Rickman, two sons; Johnny Lee (Janet) Rickman, Catlettsburg, Ky. and  Bill (Nicole) Rickman, also of Catlettsburg, Ky., two sisters; Bonnie Church Baugh and Theresa (David) Fraley, both of Catlettsburg, Ky., two grandchildren, Shane and Luke Rickman.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday July 1, 2012 at Fallsburg Tabernacle, Fallsburg, Ky. with Rev. Jerry Hughes and Rev. Bobby Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Buchannan Chapel Cemetery, Zelda, Ky. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

Visitation will be 6pm - 9pm Sunday at Fallsburg Tabernacle with family gathering at 4pm - 6pm.

Dr. C. Sid Davis

1972 - 2012

Dr. C. Sid Davis, 39, of Flagstaff, Arizonia formerly of Fort Gay, WV passed away June 21, 2012. He was born Dec. 27, 1972 in Huntington, WV to Norman E. Davis and Carol Lycan Davis. He was raised in Fort Gay, WV and graduated from Guilford College in 1995. He then attended West Virginia Dental School graduating in 1999 at which time he came to Arizona and worked as a dentist on the Hopi Reservation in Polacca then moved to Flagstaff in 2002 working with Dr. Gregory Kleiner until purchasing the practice in 2005.   

Dr. Davis enjoyed snowboarding, motorcycles, disc golf, rock climbing, sky diving, kayaking, river rafting and any new adventure that came his way.   

He is survived by his parents Norman and Carol Davis, sister Amy (Kyle) Bellomy, nieces Shelby Bellomy and Lindsey Grace Bellomy and his grandmother Mildred Davis.   

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Milton and Hazel Lycan and his paternal grandfather Charles E. Davis.   

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev Edgar Pete Miller and Rev. Tony Perry on Friday June 29th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lycan – Loar Cemetery at Fort Gay, WV.   

Friends may call on Thursday June 28th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Paul Robertson

1946 - 2012

Paul Robertson, 66, Ft. Gay, W.Va. died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Three Rivers Medical Center. Mr. Robertson was born April 3, 1946 in Ft. Gay, a son of the late Edgar and Mona (Thompson) Robertson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Adams, three brothers and one sister.

He was a disabled commercial painter.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Lee (Frazier) Roberson, two daughters; Lori Fannin, Ft. Gay, WV,  and Brenda Robertson of Phoenix, AZ, one son; Paul Michael Robertson of Ft. Gay, WV,  one brother; Dallas Robertson, Ft. Gay, WV, one sister; Darlene Sluss, Prichard, WV,  four grandchildren; Jessica Adams, Morgan Fannin, Mikah Robertson and Chase Norris, and one great grandchild, Addison Mayo.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26 at the Robertson-Adkins Cemetery, Ft. Gay, WV.

Eva Lena Colvin

1941 - 2012

Eva Lena Colvin, 70, of Louisa passed away Saturday June 23, 2012 at Three Rivers Medical Center  after a short illness. Born December 22, 1941 in Morgan's Creek, Ky. a daughter of the late Winfred D. and Goldie Edith Leadingham Burchett, she was a Materials Manager at Three Rivers Medical Center for 33 years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Colvin of Louisa, one daughter; Brenda Roberts Ward, and one step-daughter; Vicki Gravely, Raliegh, NC, two stepsons; Bobby Colvin, Niageria, NY., and Gary Colvin, Louisa, Ky., five sisters; Jean Bentley and Fredia Laney, both of Louisa, Rose McMillian and Mary Love, of Raymond, OH., and Edie Longworth, Newport, Michigan, one brother; John Burchett, Plain City, Ohio, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, June 25, 2012 at Young Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Bevins and Greg Caudill officiating. Burial will be at Greelawn Cemetery under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.  

Visitation will be 6-9 pm Sunday at Young Funeral Chapel with the family gathering at 5:00 pm.


Juanita Mullins

1923 - 2012

Juanita Mullins, 89, of Hilliard, Ohio passed away June 17, 2012. She was a lover of country music, gardening and greatly enjoyed being outdoors. Preceded in death by husband Harris 'Moon' Mullins, brothers Carlos Sagraves and Eugene Sagraves.

Survived by daughter, Gene Carole (David) Hulsey of Houston, TX, grandchild, Jason (Marla) Naylor of Panama City, FL, great grandchildren, Carol Amber-Lea Naylor, Anita Marie Naylor and Allyson-Lynn Nicole Naylor and many nieces, nephews, and a host of good friends. The family received friends on Wednesday at Todd Funeral Home, Hilliard, Ohio.

Services will be Saturday 11:00 am at Young Funeral Chapel with burial following at Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa, Ky.

1949 - 2012

Julie Francis Cox Allen, 63, of Louisa, Ky. died Tuesday June 19, 2012 at Three Rivers Medical Center after a short illness. Born February 7, 1949 in Louisa, the daughter of the late Cleveland Everett and Nolda Patrick Cox, she was a homemaker, and of the Freewill Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Allen, and a sister, Doris Jean Cox.

Survivors include one daughter; Nolda Louise Allen, Louisa, Ky., one sister; Manda Sue Cox, Louisa, Ky., two brothers; Everett Lee (Linda) Cox, Huntsville, Ala., and Larry William (Mildred) Cox, Williamsburg, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday June 21, 2012 at Greenlawn Cemetery by Elder Tommy Meade.

Burial will be under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

Billy Frank Bradley

1936 - 2012

Billy Frank Bradley, 76, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Monday June 18, 2012 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa. He was born June 5, 1936 at Cadmus, Ky. He was the son of the late Celsus and Zelda Ekers Bradley. Mr. Bradley was a retired welder for Ashland Oil, Inc. and owned and operated Bradley and Bradley Welding, Inc., a member of the OCAW 3-505, member of Louisa Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Louisa Fire Dept. board of directors. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Eunice Black.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Catheryn Branham Bradley of Louisa, two sons; William Franklin and Vickie Bradley of Louisa and Casey Scott and Brittony of Louisa, three special grandchildren; William Blake Bradley, Lauren Faith Bradley and Herbert Connor Bradley, all of Louisa, one sister; Virginia Bradley Davis of Huntington, W.Va.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday at Young Funeral Chapel with Revs. Venny Vanhoose and Ron Burger officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, Ky. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

Visitation will be 5-9 pm on Wednesday at Young Funeral home.
