Johnny "Keith" Keither Maynard Jr.

1973 - 2013

Johnny "Keith" Keither Maynard Jr., 40, of Catlettsburg, Ky. passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky. He was born in Columbus, Ohio a son of Johnny and Beverly Scarberry Maynard Sr. He was owner/operator of Full Throttle Construction, a member of Emily Northup Baptist Church, and he was a member of SAE Fraternity at Morehead State University which he was a 1995 graduate. Keith was also a NRA member. He was preceded in death by, paternal grandparents, Granville and Thelma Maynard, maternal grandparents, Curtis and Elsie Scarberry, father-in-law, David Bradley and Uncle Lannie Maynard.

Survivors include, his loving wife Amy Bradley Maynard of Catlettsburg, Ky.; parents, Johnny and Beverly Maynard of Louisa, Ky.; brother, Joey (Misty) Maynard of Cannonsburg, Ky.; mother-in-law, Debbie and Ed Proffitt; sister-in-law, Leanne Bradley; brother-in-law, Chad and Sandy Proffitt; ; special niece and nephew, Kirstin and Blake Proffitt; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Pinehill Cemetery, Louisa, Ky. Visitation will be 5:00 til 9:00 PM Tuesday at Young Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Kasi DeShae Matney

1992 - 2013

Kasi DeShae Matney, age 21, of Louisa passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013. Miss Matney was born April 2, 1992 in Huntington, WV. She is the daughter of Kevin Matney and Karen James.

In addition to her parents she is survived by one son: Hayden Joshua Kevin Lyons; Kasi is also survived by her grandparents; Suzie Matney of Louisa, KY; Glenn and Shirley Gartin of Fort Gay and Ken and Wanda Matney of Winchester. Kasi also leaves behind 2 step sisters Cassidy and Lindsay James and a special cousin Meagan Hanshaw

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Gwendolyn Derifield 

1917 - 2013

Gwendolyn Derifield age 96 of Clifford, KY passed away October 4, 2013 at J. J. Jordan Geriatric Center following a long illness.

Gwendolyn was born August 16, 1917 at Peach Creek, Logan County West Virginia, the daughter of the late Vincent and Myrtle Fields Sammons. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years George Derifield who died in  2003, sisters Jean Turill and Wilma Wallace.

She was a homemaker and member of the Missionary Baptist Church for 80 years.

Survivors include a daughter  Elizabeth Green of Louisa, two sons George Phillip Derifield of Lexington, KY and Gary Derifield of Frankfort, KY,  a sister Mildred Kinder of Madisonville, KY, four grandchildren five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday October 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home by Rev. John May. Burial will follow in the Derifield Cemetery at Clifford, KY.

Miss Helena Webb Holt

1946 - 2013

Miss Helena Webb Holt, age 67, of Louisa, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center following a long illness. Helena was born August 10, 1946 in Louisa, KY., the daughter of the late Bernard and Thelma Marcum Holt.

She leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday October 6th at the Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Louisa Ky.

Geneva “Nick” Jones Isaac

1937-2013

Geneva “Nick” Jones Isaac, 75, of Louisa, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in Cornerstone Hospital following an extended illness.

Geneva “Nick” was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Floyd County, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Tanie Howell Jones. She was a retired legal secretary and farmer. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Daughters of the American Revolution and First Baptist Church of Louisa.

Geneva “Nick” was also preceded in death by her loving husband, William H. “Pete” Isaac; a grandchild, William Thomas Isaac; and a sister, Jeanette Stewart.

Geneva “Nick” is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Brian) Reid of Jacksboro, Tenn., and Patty (Willard) Carter of Louisa; two sons, Jim Bob (Pam) Isaac and Jeff (Kim) Isaac, both of Louisa; four sisters, Evel Johnson, Barb Mullen and Evie Burchett, all of Louisa, and Edith Folden of Leesburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Micheal Maynard, Michele Robinson, Trevor Maynard, LaDonna Blackburn, J.C. Isaac, Brandy Isaac, Brooke Isaac and Caroline Isaac; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron Robinson, Abby Robinson and Eli Blackburn.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa by the Rev. David Maynard. Burial will be in W.M. Shannon Cemetery in Louisa.

Paul Edison Williams

1926 - 2013

Paul Edison Williams, 86, of Louisa, KY. passed away on October 1, 2013 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. after a brief illness. He was born October 26, 1926 in Louisa, KY., a son of the late Marvin and Shirley Music Williams. Paul was a member of the Favored United Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, member of Apperson Lodge 195 F & AM and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Ruth Williams; two brothers, James Harrison Williams and Merle Williams; step-sister, Lenora Barker; half-sister, Prudence Mullins and step-mother; Florence Hatfield Williams.

Paul is survived by sisters; Alphoretta O'Daniel of Louisa, KY., Annalee (Amos) Davidson of Louisa, KY., step-sister; Elsie May (Randy) Scott of Mississippi,  half-sister; Kathy Jane (Calvin) Burchett of Louisa, KY., three brothers; Chalmer Shugg (Elita) Williams of North Carolina, Marvin Jr. (Ramona) Williams of Louisa, KY., Robert Harold (Joy) Williams of Ashland, KY., and brother-in-law; Bill (Larlene) Lemaster of Louisa, KY. of which Paul  raised as a son.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Elders; James Daniels, Burnard Johnson, and Bobby Mullett officiating. A Masonic service will be at 7:30 Friday evening.

Visitation will be  6-9 Friday at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Fairchild-Lemaster Cemetery, Louisa, KY.

Sadie Frances Hazlett

1942 - 2013

Sadie Frances Hazlett, 71, of Prichard, W.V. passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home. She was born February 8, 1942 in Blackfork, W.V. a daughter of the late Samuel and Nona McGuire Saunders. She was a caregiver and a homemaker, she was a member of Smith United Methodist Church and also a member of Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold S. Hazlett; brothers, Kenneth Saunders, Charles Saunders, and Carmel Saunders; sister, Faye Perry; nephew, Michael Saunders and great granddaughter, Kennedy Hazlett.

Survivors include, two sons, Donald Hazlett of Huntington, W.V.; Samuel Hazlett of Prichard, W.V.; five granddaughters, Kristen Jude, Ashley Perry, Stephanie Scott, Cassandra Hazlett all of Prichard, W.V. and Magan Hazlett of Huntington, W.V.; 11 great grandchildren, Taylor Snow, Dalton Snow, of Dandiego, CA.; Axel Jude, Austin May, Audrey Perry, Madison Perry, Freelin Scott, Shelby Scott, Prezlee Scott all of Prichard, W.V.; Braxton Davis and Tanna Damron of Huntington, W.V.; Also survived by one sister Fern and Randall (Randy) Kegley of Chillicothe, Ohio; and Paul Saunders of Kenova, W.V.; one special nephew, Jeff Saunders of Lavalette and niece, April Jackson of Prichard, W.V..

Amos See

 1930 - 2013

Amos See, 82, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky. He was born November 18, 1930 in Louisa, Ky. a son of the late Arlie William and Wilda Webb Shannon See.

He was a retired blacksmith and a Lawrence County Clerk and also worked for C&O Railroad. He was a member of Louisa Church of God and a member of Masonic Lodge #195.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Larry See; brothers, James Elwood See, Andy See, and Joe See. 

Survivors include, his loving wife, Betty Jo Reed See of Louisa, Ky.; daughter in law, Cathy See of Ashland, Ky.; Grandson, Matt (Ashley) See of Louisa, Ky.; Great Granddaughter, Caroline See.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Stepp officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, Ky.

Barbara Ann Fannin

1933 - 2013

Barbara Ann Fannin age 80 of Kenova, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a long illness.

Barbara was born March 27, 1933 at Slagle, WVA. She was a retired nurse, member and Pastor of the Church of God. She is preceded in death by her husbands Carson Fannin and Lester Wellman, a son David Neal Wellman, daughter Jean Ann Fannin, and brother Pete Lambert. 

Survivors include three sons James L. Wellman, Blaine Wellman, and Grady Tillman Fannin; a daughter Crystal Dawn Wellman; sisters Eunice Lois Butcher and Mary Ruth McAvoy; brother Waldie Lambert; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday Sept. 26th at 7:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home by Rev. Paul Stepp. Burial will be in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens.

 Helen Kathlene Castle

1929 - 2013

Helen Kathlene Castle age 84, passed away Monday Sept. 23, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.  Helen or Kathleen, as she was known, was a lifelong resident of Charley, KY. 

Kathlene was the only daughter born of Willie and Martha Bevins Castle. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Castle Jr.; one son Jimmy Dean Castle, two brothers Aubrey and Gomer Bevins.

Kathlene is survived by three nieces; Carol Sue Green of Charley, KY, Renecia McKinster of Versailles, KY, and Ireda Scarberry of Columbus, OH; and one nephew Jeffrey Bevins also of Charley, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday Sept. 28th at 1:00 pm at the Georges Creek United Baptist Church by Elders Paul Castle, Jerry Colvin, and Rutherford Blair. Burial will follow in the Sparks Cemetery at Blaine, KY.

Charles C. Derefield

1934 - 2013

Charles C. Derefield, 79, of Louisa, KY. passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at J. J. Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa. He was born June 21, 1934 at Morgans Creek, Kentucky to the late Arlie and Willie Dova Chaffin Derefield. He worked in Logging and was of the Baptist Faith and was a Veteran in the United States Marine Corp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death  by two sisters; Agnes A. McLain and Freda Fay Fusner.
 

Surviving are two sons; Clinton Arlie Derefield and Joel Andrew Derefield both of Yelm, Washington, two sisters; Lula L. Ekers of Lexington, KY., and Edith E. Derefield of Louisa, KY., one brother; Robert R. Derefield of Diamond Bar, CO.,  one grandson and one great grandson.

Graveside services will be Monday, September 23, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Derefield-Chaffin Cemetery at Morgans Creek, KY. No visitation.

Charles Otis Sexton

1931 - 2013

Charles Otis Sexton age 82 of Highway 1395 Louisa, KY passed away Thursday September 19, 2013 at his home. Charles was born July 23, 1931 at Catlettsburg, KY, the son of the late Henry Powell and Nellie Galion Sexton. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Rosalee Matthews Sexton. 

Charles was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korea War. 

Survivors include four sons, Charles Sexton Jr. of Grayson, KY, Luther, Mark, and Russell Sexton all of Louisa, KY; two brothers, three sisters, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Bernice Lee Newberry

1939 - 2013

Bernice Lee Newberry, age 74, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Thursday September 19, 2013.  She was born July 6, 1939 in Louisa, Kentucky.  She is pre-deceased by her parents, William and Lydia Crabtree; brothers, Richard and Harold Crabtree; sister Phoebe Bennett; son, Michael Newberry. 

Survived by husband, Arlie E. Newberry; children, Linda Neidlinger, Eddie (Terri) Crabtree, Chuck (Maryann) Bradley, Frieda Lilly, Danny (Carolyn) Newberry, and Jo Anne Wills; 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother Bobby (Juanita) Crabtree, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Nancy Eileen Fitzgerald

Nancy Eileen Fitzgerald, 77, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born October 16, 1935 in Beulah, Ky., a daughter of the late Marvin and Rhoda Allen Scott. She was a retired nurse's aide for J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center and was a member of the Myrtle Chapel Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Fitzgerald.

Survivors include, four daughters, Portia Murphy of Fallsburg, Ky.; Barbara Lowe of Lowmansville, Ky.; Tammy Jackson of Louisa, Ky.; Sue Workman also of Louisa, Ky.; three sons, Charles Richard Fitzgerald and Norman Allen Fitzgerald both of Louisa, Ky.; Kelly Elbert Fitzgerald of Cherryville, Ky.; two sisters, Alice Henson of Louisa, Ky.; Ida Cassidy of Gallion, Ohio. 16 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.

Gary Wayne Burchett

1945-2013

9/12/13 — Gary Wayne Burchett, 68, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Ashland, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at his residence.

He was born March 19, 1945, in Rowan County, the son of the late Wilford Paul and Ola Baker Burchett.

Gary was of the Christian faith and retired from AK Steel as an electrician. He was a member of the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge No. 629. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a Shriner and served as a Potentate Escort and in the Hillbilly unit. In addition, he was a member of VFW in Florida and Kentucky, the American Legion Post No. 138 in Olive Hill and the American Lodge Moose in Ashland and Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jolly Roger Burchett, and one sister, Delores Cooley.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Burchett McGuire and husband David and Erica Burchett McKinney and husband Mike, all of Louisa; six grandchildren, Heather Lynn McGuire, Oliva Jordan McGuire, Myca Paige McKinney and Macy Grace McKinney, all of Louisa; honorary mention, Priscilla McKinney Baierlein with husband Brett and son Steffen of Lancaster, Keisha Bowen Parson and husband Brandon and William Chris Kazee, all of Louisa; five brothers and sisters-in-law, James Arnett Burchett and the late Bonnie of Pikeville, John Paul and Bonnie Burchett of Morehead, Daniel A. and Lillie Burchett of Norman, Okla., David W. Burchett of Greenup and Douglas M. and Sandy Burchett of Raceland; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Mae and Bob Shay of Garden City, Mich., Betty Kay and Bob Jacobs of Grayson, Bertha Bond and the late Richard of Morehead and Peggy and Jim Hall of Morehead. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Olive Hill with Pastor Guy Moyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery in Olive Hill with full military rites conducted by Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.

Friends may visit from 10 a.m. and until the service hour Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the First Bapist Church in Olive Hill. Masonic Rites will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church by the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge No. 629.

Janice Marlene Southers, 66, of Meades Branch Road Louisa, KY went to be with her Lord on Monday September 16, 2013 at her home.

 Janice was born April 23, 1947 in Mingo County WV, the daughter of the late Randall Hall and Vella Ooten Jones and husband Harlee Jones. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Shelby Southers.  Janice was a retired cook at Three Rivers Medical Center and member of the Little Dove United Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her loving children, daughter Christy Southers  of Louisa, son and daughter-in-law Dwayne and Alice Southers also of Louisa, grandchildren Dawson and Logan Southers; a special friend who was like a sister to her Delcie Mills, eight sisters Sharee Jones, Mildred Parsons, Marsha Etters, Thelma Adkins all of Mingo County WV, Lena Faye Hatfield of Ohio, Sharon Maynard of North Carolina, and Teresa Bragg of Florida; two brothers Perry Jones and wife Melinda and Harlee Jones Jr. and wife Teresa all of Mingo County.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday Sept. 19th at 2:00 pm at the Meades Branch FWB Church by Bros: Jimmy Maynard, Walkeen Ooten, and Denny Brown. Burial will follow in the Riverside Memory Gardens at Louisa, KY.

Ruth Patrick Davis, 57, of Louisa, KY., went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2013. She was born June 28, 1956 in Louisa, KY. a daughter of the late Harvey and Opal Maynard Spence.
 

She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Benny and Harvey Spence Jr.

Surviving are two daughters; Selena Shaffer of Columbus, Ohio and Shannon Marcum of Louisa, KY., three brothers; Cubert Spence, Hubert Spence and Curtis Spence all of Inez, KY., three sisters; Vada Smith, Roberta Spence of Louisa, and Bernice Patrick of Louisa, 14 nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren; Sabrina Shaffer, Charles Raymond Shaffer, David Shaffer, Tanisha Marcum, Briana Marcum, Larissa Marcum and Megan Marcum and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2013 10am till 10:45 am at Young Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 11am at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, KY.

Don Cook, 69, of Fort Gay, WV. passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at his home. He was born  July 4, 1944 at Radnor, WV. to the late Earl and Emmie Rowe Cook.  

Surviving is one daughter; Tonya Maynard of Kenova, WV., one son; Clifford Cook of Fort Gay, WV., two brothers; Homer Cook of Piketon, Ohio, and Everet Cook of Mansfield, Ohio, three sisters; Gladys Endicott of Ashland, KY, Lorene Bowen of Fort Gay, WV., and Stella Cook of Indiana, Grandchildren; Kendra Maynard and Lake Maynard and one great grandchild; Kaden Maynard.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00p.m.

Alma Lois Wright age 54 of Louisa, KY went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday Sept. 13, 2013 following a long illness. 

Alma was born May 30, 1959 at Paintsville, KY, the daughter of the late Cecil and Ora Haney Tackett. She was a homemaker and member of the Louisa Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include her loving family, husband Pastor Kenneth Wright, children Cynthia Wright Cooksey and James Daniel Cooksey of Louisa, Joshua Lee Wright and Michele Flanery Wright of Greenup, KY; six grandchildren Julie Cooksey, Matthew Cooksey, Kaylee Wright, Kyland Wright, Kendrick Wright, and Kenzie Wright; four brothers Willis Woodrow Tackett of Waverly, OH, Phillip Tackett of Johnstown, OH, Lee Tackett of Wabash, IN, and Cecil Curtis Tackett of Paintsville, KY; a sister Jane Alice Meade of Tutor Key, KY.

Kenneth C. Elliott of Auxier, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 12, 2013 after a long illness. He was born August 1, 1934 at Sayre, PA. He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith and after serving 23 years in the U.S. Army he retired.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Willa Elliott, four daughters; Teresa (John) Fields of Louisa, KY., Lynn (Clinton) Ball of Louisa, KY., Karen Elliott of Auxier, KY.,  and Rebecca Elliott of Lubbock, Texas, one son; Charles Lee Howard Jr. of Casper WY, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Bluegrass for their help during this difficult time.

He will be laid to rest at the Ball Cemetery at Mattie, KY. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 1:00p.m.

John Paul "Bub" Cline, Jr.

1981 - 2013

John Paul "Bub" Cline, Jr., 31 of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Louisa, KY. passed away September 9, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. He was born November 2, 1981 at Louisa, KY. a son of John P. Cline and Gail O"Bryan Cline of Columbus, Ohio. He was a painter.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister; Annalee Denise Cline of Columbus, Ohio. He will be missed by his extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held 2pm Saturday September 14, 2013 at the Cline Cemetery at Brushy, Kentucky with Rev. Rick Cordial officiating. 

Visitation will be 6-8 on Friday at Young Funeral Home.


Foster Jay Grim

1931 - 2013

Foster Jay Grim, 81, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his home. He was born October 2, 1931 in Paintsville, Ky. a son of the late Walter and Nannie Cordle Grim. He was a construction worker and a United States Army Veteran. He was of United Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons, Little David Grim and Eugene Grim.

Survivors include his loving wife, Pheobe McCoy Grim of Louisa, Ky.; daughters, Pauline (Robert) Williamson of Louisa, Ky.; Doris (Joe) McKinster of Louisa, Ky.; Susie (Bear) Keeton also of Louisa, Ky.; sons, Jay (Donna) Grim of Louisa, Ky.; Rick (Jeanette) Grim of Louisa, Ky.; Corky Grim of Fort Gay, W.V.; 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, September 13, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernie Salyers officiating. Burial will follow at the Grim Cemetery, Castle Fork.

Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 til 9:00 PM at Young Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Jack Allen Stevens 

1948 - 2013

Jack Allen Stevens, 65, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. He was born March 3, 1948 in Louisa, Ky. a son of the late John and Tora Griffith Stevens. He was a maintenance mechanic for AEP, and was a United States Army Veteran, he was also a member of the Apperson Lodge #195, he was of Freewill Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Merrill and Sherrill Stevens.

Survivors include, his loving wife, Lois Rae Bush Stevens of Louisa, Ky.; one daughter, Julie Deanna Stevens of Louisa, Ky.; one son, Wesley Allen Stevens of Louisa, Ky.; four brothers, James Stevens and Tim Stevens both of Louisa, Ky.; Bob Stevens and John Stevens both of Ashland, Ky.; one sister, Sheila Kitchen of Columbus, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 AM Thursday at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Gene Hayes and Rev. Mack Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow at Riffe Cemetery, Louisa, Ky.

Visitation will be 6:00 til 9:00 PM Wednesday at Young Funeral Home.

Bertha Ellen Salmons

1921 - 2013

Bertha Ellen Salmons, 92, of Fort Gay, W.V. passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home. She was born January 1, 1921 to the late William and Nancy Evans Copley. She was a member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Frank P. Salmons; sons, William M. Salmons, Roland Franklin Salmons, Franky Salmons, Jarvis Ellis; daughter, Nancy M. Marcum; granddaughters, Rachell and Jacqualine Marcum.

Survivors include, Jess Salmons, Shirley Klien, Linda Marcum, Betty Marcum, James Salmons, Laura Swenniny, Barbara Carsner, Janie Salmons, William Salmons, Arbrey Salmons, Brother, Harless Copley, 38 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, and a host of many great, great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington W.V. for there help during this time.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, September 11, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bo Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at the Salmons Cemetery in Webb, W.V.

Visitation will be 5:00 til 9:00 PM Wednesday at Young Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Sherri Renee Wellman

1959 - 2013

Sherri Renee Wellman age 53 of Fort Gay, WV passed away Wednesday September 4, 2013 following a long illness. 

Sherri was born December 10, 1959 at Logan, WV, the daughter of Shirley Jean Bragg Wolfe and the late Joe Fred Hayton. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Ericka and Matt Black, two grandchildren Bailee Renee Black and Sydnee Nicole Black, two sisters Joetta Hatfield and Jane Harris, a brother Joseph Hayton, her fiancé Mike Hanna, a special aunt Joyce Ann Sampson.

 

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday September 6th at 6:00 pm at the Gilkerson Cemetery at Prichard, WV with Bro. Darin Fetherolf officiating.

Private visitation for the family will be held.
