Raymond Lee Osborne

1955 - 2013

Raymond Lee Osborne age 58 of Blaine, Kentucky passed away Tuesday December 17, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

Raymond was born Feb. 20, 1955 at Blaine, KY, the son of the late Hubert and Sylvia Sparks Osborne. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his late wife, Peggy Ann, and two sisters Taletha Faye Bates and Lucy Barker. He was a former Lawrence County Road Department employee and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Bobby Keeton of Blaine; a son and daughter-in-law Chris and Debbie Osborne of Blaine; two brothers Hubert Milton (Shirley) Osborne of Blaine and Jerry (Pam) Osborne of Ashland, KY; two half-brothers Harold (Tena) Osborne and Darrell Lowe both of Blaine; three half-sisters Patsy (Fred) Arrington of Blaine, Suzie (Larry Gene) Ratliff of Fallsburg, KY and Brenda (Danny) Slone also of Blaine; a granddaughter Totiona Keeton and two grandsons Jadan Keeton and Bradley Osborne, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday Dec. 20th at 11:00 am at the Cains Creek FWB Church with Bro. Ford McKenzie and Bro. Rodney King officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery at Blaine, KY.

Friends may call after 3:00 pm Thursday at the Cains Creek FWB Church.

Thomas Vance

1959 -2013

Thomas Vance, 54, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at his home. He was born November 24, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio a son of the late Hubert and Margaret York Vance. He was a mechanic, and was a member of Richardson Chapel Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Anna Morris.

Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn Sue McKenzie Vance of Louisa, Ky.; four sons, Billy Joe Vance, Charles Ray Vance, Thomas Vance Jr., and Timothy Gene Vance all of Louisa, Ky.; Grandchildren, Brody Lee Vance and Nevaeh Grace Vance; three sisters, Audrey Steiner, Donna Bailey, and Wilma Wilson all of Louisa, Ky.; two brothers, William Vance and Leburn Vance both of Louisa, Ky.;

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Caudill and Gene Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Torchlight Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 til 9:00 PM Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel.


Joey “Tiny” Morgan

1971 - 2013

Joey “Tiny” Morgan, 42, of Gilbert, WV passed away Friday December 13, 2013 at the Logan Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. Joey was born July 26, 1971 at Mullins, WV, the son of Albert Joe and Jone Carol Blankenship Morgan. He was a logger.

In addition to his parents survivors include his wife Joni Hatfield Morgan, three sons Zachary, Joseph, and Seth Morgan all at home; and a daughter Kathlyn Morgan also at home; a brother Michael Morgan of Simon, WV, and a sister Lorie Mounts of Gilbert, WV. He was preceded in death by a son Patrick Morgan.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday Dec. 18th at 1:00 pm at the Carl Wolford Church by Bro. Billy Deskins and Bro. Greg Rice. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Horse Pen, WV.

Jeff Savage

1966 - 2013

Jeff Savage, 47, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Kings Daughters Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Jeff was born August 5, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Jess and Bertha Pack Savage. He was a heavy equipment operator for Pen Coal and of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife Angie (Fluty) Savage, a son Jared Savage, a brother David (Della) Savage, and a sister Tina (Tommy) Ramey and many nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband and father who made it his priority for the care and happiness of his family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday December 15th at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Workman and Rev. Jimmy Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Yates-Benard Cemetery at Louisa.

Cebron Browning

1937 - 2013

Cebron Browning, 76, of Prichard, WV. passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born January 1, 1937 in Dunlow, WV. a son of the late Jennings Browning and Jessie Wallace Napier. He was a retired bus driver for the Wayne Co. Board of Education. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; Jay and Charles Browning, sister; Anita Jarvis and two grandchildren; Isaac and Kaytlyn.

Surviving is two sons; Dempsey Browning of Louisa, KY. and Charles Edward Browning of Fort Gay, WV. Brothers; Robert Maynard of Kenova, WV. , Elva Maynard of Ceredo, WV., Doug Browning of Columbus, Ohio, Sisters; Terry Thompson of Columbus, Ohio,  Barbara Ray of Circleville, Ohio and grandchildren; Amanda and Clayton Browning.

Funeral services will be 11am Monday at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mack Ray Cyrus officiating. Burial will be in the Dan Wallace Cemetery at Dunlow, WV.

Visitation will be 6-9 on Sunday at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Alma Lee (Vipperman) Bevins Burgess

1930 - 2013

Alma Lee (Vipperman) Bevins Burgess age 83, of Annandale Virginia passed away December 5, 2013, at Golden Living Center. Alma was born November 13, 1930 at Belfry Kentucky, daughter of the late Okey and Rosetta Vipperman.

She was proceeded in death by two sisters JoAnn (Bunkie) Clark, Jeanette Farley and her husband Richard Burgess.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Randle) Anselmi, Dreama (Wayne) Morefield, one son, Rickie (Lyndella) Bevins, two sisters Nancy Marchant, Phyllis DiMauro, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her good friend Virginia Ralston.

Alma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose primary goal in life was the happiness of her family.

Graveside services will be conducted at a later time at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC.

 

Dianna Jean McClary Robertson

1947 - 2013

Dianna Jean McClary Robertson, 66, of Fort Gay, W.V. passed away November 5, 2013 at her home. She was born October 18, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio a daughter of the late Ivan and Anita Schaffer McClary. She was a homemaker and was a member of Oak Grove Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Robertson; daughter, Janet Lynn Robertson;
 

Survivors include, one daughter, Barbara Robertson of Fort Gay, W.V.; one son, Frank Jr. Robertson of Fort Gay, W.V.; sisters, Donna Lowe of Chillicothe, Ohio; Mary Samborsky of Ohio; brothers, Mike McClary of Florida; Danny McClary of Columbus, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, December 13, 2013 at Oak Grove Church with Rev. Mack Ray Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow at the Robertson Cemetery, Fort Gay, W.V.

Rickie Lee Webb

1979 - 2013

Rickie Lee Webb, age 34, of Louisa, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Community Hospice Care Center of Ashland, KY.  Rickie was born December 5, 1979 in Ashland , KY. He is the son of Lee and Lois (Isaac) Webb.  
 
In addition to his parents Rickie is survived by his brother Marcus Webb of Louisa, a sister Leah Webb also of Louisa,  and his grandfather, Herbert Webb of Fort Gay, West Virginia.
 
Rickie is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Rev. Gallie and Helen Isaac and his paternal grandmother Lydia Webb.
 
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday December 10th  at the Isaac Park Church.  Bro Mack Ray Cyrus and Bro Tommy VanHoose will be officiating.
 
Burial will follow in the Isaac Park Cemetery.

Virginia Ruth Adkins

1931 - 2013

Virginia Ruth Adkins of Louisa, Ky. passed away at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland on December 6th, 2013.

She was born on January 19, 1931 in Richardson, Ky. to Arch and Ferbie Borders. She was a homemaker and loving mother to eight children. She also had a big part in raising one granddaughter, Kirsten Clancy of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She loved each and every child and made sure there was always plenty to eat for everyone. Going to flea markets was her biggest enjoyment. She was preceded in death by three children, Eddie, Jody, and Sandy.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Dallas Adkins and sister Nell Borders of Louisa. Surviving children include, Archie Adkins of Louisa, Freddie Adkins of Louisa, Gloria Jean Christian of Louisa, Doris Burchett of Louisa, and Steve Adkins of Louisa.

At her request, there will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held at Pinehill Cemetery, Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please contribute to your local humane society or Community Hospice Care Center. 2330 Pollard Rd., Ashland, Ky. 41101.

Juanita Elizabeth McGranahan

1941 - 2013

Juanita Elizabeth McGranahan, 72, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born October 17, 1941 in Catlettsburg, Ky. a daughter of the late Andy and Laura Hicks Lemons. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McGranahan who passed away in 2006.

Survivors include, daughter, Nancy Newsome of Louisa, Ky.; two sons, Jackie McGranahan of Louisa, Ky.; Andrew Vanover of Indiana; sister, Dora Dowdy of Catlettsburg, Ky.; Granddaughter, Elizabeth Newsome; Great Grandson, Christopher Waddle.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Garrett Chapel Church with Pastor Willie May officiating. Burial will follow at the McGranahan Cemetery, Louisa, Ky.

Visitation will be 6:00 til 9:00 PM Saturday at Young Funeral Home.

 

Loraine Thompson Edwards

1934 - 2013

Loraine Thompson Edwards, 79, of Norris Fork Road, died December 4, 2013 at her residence. She was born at Norris, August 17, 1934, a daughter of the late Grayden and late Oklahoma Estep Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Edwards, who died April 21, 1990.
 

Survivors include her daughters, Daisy Young and husband Jim, of Chapman, Bonnie Edwards, of Norris Fork, and Darlene Jude, and husband, Randall of Thompson Fork. A grandson, Jasen Randall Jude and wife, Peyton of Thompson Fork Road, two great grandsons, David Albert Dean Jude, Eli Randall Jude and a step granddaughter, Gabriella Lynn Dotson.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Spencer Freewill Baptist Church under the direction of Young Funeral Home, with Ronald Childers and Roger Ross officiating.

Visitation will be at Spencer Freewill Baptist Church after 2:00 PM Friday, December 6, 2013.

Burial will be in the Thompson Family Cemetery.

Troy Bryant

1927 - 2013

Troy Bryant, 86, of Charley, KY went to be with the Lord on Monday December 2, 2013 following a brief illness. Troy was born March 5, 1927 at Charley, KY, the son of the late George and Ollie Hayes Bryant. He was a retired sawmill worker and the oldest member of the Charley Free Will Baptist for 65 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Juanita Cordle, a grandson Steve Bryant, and a great great grandson James Bryan Smith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Roger Smith of Blaine, KY; a son and daughter-in-law Troy Jr. and Deborah Bryant of Charley, KY; a sister Avenell Tarring of Louisa, KY; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday Dec. 5th at 11:00 am at the Charley Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Gene Hayes and Rev. Todd Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Judd Cemetery at Norris, KY.

Judy Ann Boyd, 54, of Nats Creek passed away Saturday November 30, 2013 at her home following a long illness.

Judy was born May 30, 1959 at Hazard, KY the daughter of Virgil Lee and Dorothy Faye Armes Marcum. She was a medical assistant.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband Henry “Skip” Boyd Jr., a daughter Janet (Joey) Fitch of Louisa, KY, son Henry (Sandra Gail) Boyd IV also of Louisa, three sisters Connie Lee Jewell of Louisa, Rosa Daughtery of Redkey, IN, and Brenda Sue Most of Burnside, KY; three brothers Virgil, Kenneth, and Lawrence David Marcum all of Louisa; four grandchildren.

He was born March 25, 1997 in Huntington, W.V. a son of Clarence Harless Jr. and Deana Michelle Blankenship. He was a student. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Cay Blankenship and Clarence Harless.

1943 - 2013

Terry “Doc” Clark 70 of Louisa, KY formerly of Baltimore, Ohio passed away Tuesday November 26, 2013 following a brief illness. Terry was born Feb. 1, 1943 at Lancaster, Ohio the son of Mary L. Landis Clark and the late Clyde N. Clark. He was a retired employee of the Worthington Industries Cylinder Division.

Survivors include his loving wife Shirley Sain Clark, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and C.J. Perkins of Louisa, son Terry Lee Clark Jr. of Louisa, mother Mary L. Landis Clark of Hillsboro, NC, sisters Judy (Pat) Dorman of Louisa, Christine (Kenneth) Pinkerton of Hillsboro, NC, and Margaret (P.J.) Etheredge of West Palm Beach, FL; brother Clyde (Cathy) Clark of Johnsontown, OH; three grandchildren Ashleigh Clark, Dylan Clark, and Cameron Perkins; three adopted grandchildren Melody Anthony, Hannah Daniels, and Grayson Daniels.

Mailyn Leigh Chandler, age 8, of Louisa, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Cabell - Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. Mailyn was born August 9, 2005 in Huntington, WV. She is the daughter of Jeremy and Amy (Moore) Chandler.

In addition to her parents she is survived by two brothers: Trey Moore and Devin Chandler and also her Maternal Grandmother, Wanda Moore. She is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mailyn is preceded in death by her brother, Sleven Chandler and her Maternal Grandfather Jerry Dean Moore.

The funeral will be held 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Richardson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, with Rev Tommy Meade and Rev Ralph Hogston officiating. Burial will follow in the Slevens Garden Cemetery

1919 - 2013

Dorothy Ann Posten New, 94, widow of Homer U. New,  passed away Tuesday, November 12th  at the Springfield Ohio Masonic Home. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky on Saturday November 16, 2013 from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday November 17, 2013 at Big Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Gay, WV with  Pastor Tony Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn cemetery in Louisa, Ky.
 
Dorothy was born April 8, 1919 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Curtis Thornton Posten and Nell Rebecca Posten. After her husband of fifty six years retired, they moved back to his hometown of Kenova. She was a member of the Kenova United Methodist Church where she sang in the Senior Choir. Her life was devoted to her family, to being a Girl Scout leader, teaching children in Sunday School, playing her piano for her churches and volunteering many years at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Dorothy loved people and was devoted to her church and bible studies.

Surviving are three daughters; Judy Brinson (Bob) of Charleston South Carolina, Sally Mizerik of Ceredo, WV and Laura Schmitt (Jeff) of Springfield, Oh. Two sons; H.P. “Corky” New of Prichard, WV and Curtis A. New (Debbie) of Lewisburg, Ohio. One brother, Charles L. Posten of Liberty , W.V. Nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers, David Posten of Kanawha City, WV and Donald Posten of California and a daughter in law, “Peggie” New of Prichard, WV.

He was a retired Clerk for the United States Postal Service, United States WWII Army Veteran and a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Prestonsburg, Ky. Billy Joe Levering, 52, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at his home. He was born February 18, 1961 in East Lynn, W.V. a son of the late Albert and Minnie Merritt Levering. He attended Garden Of Hope Church. 

Survivors include, one daughter, Nicole Gannon of Louisa, Ky.; three brothers, Bob Levering, Jerry Levering, and Kevin Levering all of Louisa, Ky.; four grandchildren, Anthony Gannon Jr.; Zachary Conatser, Alexis Conatser and Krista Conatser.

She was a Day Care Teacher and attended New Beginning Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Merrill Stevens, Sherrill Stevens and Jackie Stevens.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Everett Meddings and Bro. Ronnie Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, Ky.

Elizabeth S. Caudill

1945 - 2013

Elizabeth S. Caudill, 68, of Webbville, Ky. passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at her home. She was born in Guam, a daughter of the late Wayne and Rosa Sablan Kayse. She was a homemaker and a member of the Irish Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving is her husband; Manford "Toby" Caudill of Webbville, Ky., daughters; Tina Bryant of Marblehead, Ohio, Michele Shaffer of Webbville, Ky., and Kim Caudill of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, brothers; Wayne H. Kayse, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, James Kayse of Columbus, Ohio, Daniel Kayse of Westerville, Ohio, and Joseph Kayse of Columbus, Ohio, sister; Linda McArdell of Westerville, Ohio and 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Monday at the Crossroads United Baptist Church with Bill Baisden officiating. Burial will be in the Galloway Cemetery at Galloway, Ohio.

Visitation will be 5-7 on Sunday at the Young Funeral Home.

Braxton Lee Ferguson

2011 - 2013

Braxton Lee Ferguson, 2 years old, went to be the Lord on Friday November 8, 2013.

Braxton was born January 3, 2011 in Louisa, KY., the son of Brandon Ferguson and Diana Vance Isley.

In addition to his parents he is survived by two brothers Dustin Shepherd and Bentley Ferguson, a sister Dixie Insley, maternal mother Lisa Reeves, maternal grandfather Walter Vance, paternal grandmother Barbara Hickman, and paternal grandfather Walter Ferguson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday November 10th at 4:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens Louisa, KY.

Friends may call after 2:30 pm Sunday and until time of services at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Kenneth Eugene Collins

1956 - 2013

Kenneth Eugene Collins 57 of Fallsburg, KY passed away Tuesday November 5, 2013 following a sudden illness. 

Kenneth was born August 4, 1956 in Louisa, KY the son of the late Kermit and Barbara Shortridge Collins. He was a retired supervisor for Ashland Coal Inc.

Survivors include his wife Joann Chapman Collins, a son Kelly Kasey Collins of Ashland, KY, two sisters Brenda Kay Dawson and husband Bob of Washington CH, Ohio and Connie Collins Meade of Grayson, KY, a brother Kermit Collins Jr. and wife Connie also of Fallsburg, KY; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday November 8th at 11:00 am at the Collins Cemetery Fallsburg, KY with Rev. Jimmy Osborne officiating.

Anna Lee Ward

1949 - 2013

Anna Lee Ward, 64, of Prestonsburg, Ky. passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born September 27, 1949 in Urbana, Ohio a daughter of the late Harvey Parson and Anna Rae Robinett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Boldman Freewill Baptist Church at Harold, Ky. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Parson, Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband, Clifford Ward of Prestonsburg, Ky.; daughter, Marie "Steven" Wagoner of McDowell, Ky.; sons, Stefan Ward of Prestonsburg, Ky.; Jeremy "Gevena" Ward; two grandchildren, Chloe and Harrison; two brothers, Mark Parson of Florida; Nathaniel Parson "Debbie" of Louisa, Ky.; sisters, Abgail Frazier of Louisa, Ky.; Virginia Maynard of Louisa, Ky.; Gloria Ferguson of Flatwoods, Ky.; Lelia Caudill of Louisa, Ky.
