1953 - 2016

Willard Edward Price, 62, of Louisa, Kentucky passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Willard was born December 29, 1953 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Cozie Parsley Price. Willard was a retired construction worker and was a member of Charlie Freewill Baptist Church.

Willard leaves behind his loving wife, Susan Lindsey Price of Louisa, Kentucky; brother, Naman Eugene Parsley of Jenny's Creek, WV; sister, Jewell Gay Mullins of Chapmanville, WV; uncle, Willard Parsley of Jenny's Creek, WV; Beloved nephew, Daniel Adams of Chapmanville, WV; and many cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Charlie Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Webb officiating.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until time of services on Saturday.

Lora Ann Carley Williamson

1967 - 2016

Lora Ann Carley Williamson, 48 of Louisa passed away Tuesday February 16, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Mrs. Williamson was surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Williamson was born December 25, 1967 in Louisa, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Howard Lee Smith and Chloe Jane Carley.

In addition to her parents Lora is preceded in death by one brother, Marion Carley Jr.

Mrs. Williamson leaves behind a significant other, Kenneth Ray Presley. Also 3 children; Louri Ann Williamson, Jonathan (Bub) Williamson and wife Angel and a stepson, Tyler Presley, 4 grandchildren; Chloe and Taylour Williamson, Ryder Ward and Trevor Evans. 3 brothers, Lee Carley and wife Holley, Randall Carley and wife Nina and Kenneth Carley and wife Brandy. Lora also leaves behind a host of family and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Williamson will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00 pm on Friday February 19, 2016 at the Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm with Bro. Dave Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the Webb Cemetery in Webb,WV.

Linnie Rosalene Hammond

1936 - 2016

Linnie Rosalene Hammond, 79, of Webbville, Ky. passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

Linnie was born July 1, 1936 in Wellford, WV. a daughter of the late John and Betsie Strickland Seabolt. She was a homemaker and was a member of  Dennis Chapel Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade U. Hammond; and several siblings.

Survivors include, two sons, Harry Roger (Gloria) Holbert of Cleveland, Ohio; Terry G. Holbert of Elyria, Ohio; Numerous grandchildren, great grand children, and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gordan Crisp officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillman Family Cemetery, Webbville, Ky.

Linda Rae Burke

1943 - 2016

Linda Rae Burke, 72, of Louisa, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 in Louisa, Kentucky.

Linda Rae was born March 25, 1943 in Ripley, WV to Ray and Betty (Blankenship) Ferguson. She graduat from Louisa High School in 1961. She attended Morehead State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1965. She went on to earn a Master's Degree in Education, as well as a Rank I in Education, both from Morehead State University. Linda was a devoted teacher for 32 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisa. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren,

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Betsy, and one sister Janet Richards.

Linda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Danny; daughters, Cari Elizabeth (Thomas) Bradley of Georgetown, Ky; Susan Rebecca Hogan (Steve) Little of Louisa, Ky; and grandchildren, Michael Burke Hogan, Charles Ferguson Bradley, Matthew Blake Hogan, and Lily Elizabeth Bradley.

Funeral services will be held at Young Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held at Young Funeral Home in Louisa on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Greg Damron 

1970 - 2016

Greg Damron, 45, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday Feb. 12, 2016 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice Care Center following a long illness.

Greg was born June 6, 1970 at Louisa, KY the son of Kay Bryant Damron and the late Berman Damron. He was a coal miner and member of the Oak Grove Church.

Survivors include his wife Susie Robertson Damron, a son Justin Damron and Cheryl Halcomb of Fort Gay, WV; mother Kay Damron of Fort Gay, WV, two grandchildren Xander and Remington Damron, two brothers Nathan Damron and wife Rhonda of Fort Gay, WV and Michael Damron and wife Carolyn of Bowling Green, KY, and a special nephew Josh Ferguson of Louisa, KY.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Feb. 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow in the Robertson Cemetery at Fort Gay.

Jim Hayes 

1960 - 2016

Jim Hayes, 56, of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Louisa passed away Friday Feb. 12, 2016 at Mt. Carmel East following a long illness.

Jim was born Feb. 5, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio the son of the late James Arthur and Frankie Faye Thompson Hayes. He was a mechanic and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include four daughters, Heather Panjon and husband Ramiro, Jayme Hayes, Shara Hayes, and Kara Hayes all of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Hayleigh, Hayden, Kilynn, Kaison, and Landon; a sister Priscilla Hayes of Fort Gay, WV, and a brother Bill Hayes and wife Cheri of Delaware, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Feb. 15th at 11:00 am at the Louisa FWB Church with Rev. Bill Hayes and Rev. Willie Gene Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinehill Cemetery Louisa, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday Feb. 14th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Hubert Milton Osborne 

1945 - 2016

Hubert Milton Osborne 70 of Blaine, KY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday Feb. 9, 2016 following a long illness.

Milton was born Feb. 15, 1945 at Blaine, KY the son of the late Hubert and Sylvia Sparks Osborne. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Osborne and two sisters, Faye Bates and Lucy Barker. Milton was a retired Lawrence County Road Department Employee and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Cooper Osborne, a daughter Pam Clester and husband Robert of Blaine, KY; four sons Robert Osborne of Fallsburg, KY, Earl Osborne and wife Cindy of Blaine, Mike Osborne and wife Mary of Webbville, KY and Roger Osborne and wife Charity also of Blaine; a brother Jerry Osborne and wife Pam of Rush, KY, a half-brother Harold Osborne and wife Tena of Blaine, three half-sisters Brenda Slone of Louisa, KY, Patsy Arrington and husband Fred of Blaine, and Susie Ratliff and husband Larry Gene of Fallsburg, KY; a step brother Darrell Lowe also of Blaine; eleven grandchildren Tina Muncy, Travis, Rose, Willie, Zach, Lillie, Hannah, Hunter Osborne, Zach Blankenship, Milton Lee and Patrick Clester; two great grandchildren Darlene Muncy and Kevin Delong.

Funeral services will be held on Friday Feb. 12 at 2:00 pm at the Cains Creek FWB Church with Rev. Rodney King and Rev. Jonathan King officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery at Blaine.

1966 - 2016

Eddy Parker, 49, of Louisa, KY passed away Tuesday Feb. 9, 2016 following a brief illness.

Eddy was born May 13, 1966 at Mount Holly, New Jersey the son of Mary Lou Shannon Parker and the late Paul Parker. He was a disabled construction worker and member of the Oak Grove Church.

Survivors include his mother Lou Parker of Louisa, two daughters Brittany Rodebaugh and husband Josh of Prestonsburg, KY and Maddison Hope Parker of Louisa; two sisters Sherrie Crum and husband Charles of Louisa and Tammy Goble and husband Mitchell also of Louisa; a brother Terry Parker and wife Robin of Fallsburg, KY; a granddaughter Gracie Elizabeth Parker; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday Feb. 12 at 2:30 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Ray Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery at Louisa, Ky.

Friends may visit the family from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday Feb. 11 at the Wilson Funeral Home.

John Earl Johnson Jr.

1964 - 2016

John Earl Johnson Jr., 51, of Webbville, Ky. passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

He was born February 12, 1964 in Williamson, WV, a son of the late John Earl Johnson Sr. and the late Virginia Rose New Johnson Mullett.

John was a member of the Circleville Masonic Lodge and he was of Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex Sammons and Rodney Johnson.

Survivors are his loving wife, Darlene May Johnson of Webbville, Ky.; children, Kristir (James) Jobe of Webbville, Ky.;  Lena Renee Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; Jonathan (Tashanda) Johnson of Olive Hill, Ky.; brothers, Phillip (Ann) Johnson of Columbus, Ohio;  Adam (Christie) Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; Bobby Runyon of WV.; Russell White of Grayson, Ky.; sisters, Audrey Johnson of Grayson, Ky.; Ruth White of Grayson, Ky.; Mollie Burgess of Arizona; Rose White of Grayson, Ky.; grandchildren, Raymond, Ethan, and Lillie Jobe, Christian, Keiona, Jaxon and Hayley “Angel” Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special extended “children and wives”.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Cherokee Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Dave Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Johnson Family Cemetery, Webbville, KY.

Lois Jean “Toby” Evans 

1940 - 2016

Lois Jean “Toby” Evans 75, of Louisa, KY went to be with the Lord on Thursday Feb. 4, 2016 following a long illness.

Toby was born July 25, 1940 at Kermit, WV the daughter of the late George Ellis and Opal Marie Basiden Maynard. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William Sherman “Carl” Evans and two sisters, Barbara Gail Maynard Rose and Carina Sue Maynard Bault. Toby was a homemaker and member of the Louisa Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters, Magdalene Maynard and husband Gary of Versailles, KY and Judith Bowen and husband William of Fallsburg, KY, a son Timothy Evans and wife Angie of Louisa, KY; three sisters Eloise Maynard Baker, Della Mae Maynard Damron, and Debbie Maynard Sapp, a brother George Ellis Maynard Jr.; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Feb. 8 at 11:30 am at the Louisa Church of God with Rev. Paul Stepp officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Family Cemetery at Fallsburg, KY.

Ronald E. Moore

1946 - 2016

Ronald E. Moore, 69, of Louisa, KY passed away Thursday Feb. 4, 2016 at his home following a brief illness.

Ronald was born Dec. 15, 1946 at Louisa, KY the son of Virginia Carter Moore Priode and the late Kenneth Moore. In addition to his father Ronald is preceded in death by a daughter Rhonda J. Moore Warner. He was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include a very special friend for 30 years Carol Spencer, mother Virginia Moore Priode of Fallsburg, KY, daughter Teresa Engdahl of Creston, Iowa; a sister Carolyn Sue Holley of Louisa, stepfather Guyer Priode of Fallsburg, KY; eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday Feb. 7th at 2:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens.

Dr. James Smith, Jr.

1937 - 2016

Dr. James Milton Smith, Jr., (Jim), 78, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on April 13, 1937, in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky, and was the eldest child of Dr. James M. Smith, Sr. and Louise (Grant) Smith. He graduated from Louisa High School as valedictorian of the Class of 1955. For his undergraduate studies, he attended Washington and Lee University and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marshall University. At the conclusion of his graduate studies at the University of Kentucky, he was selected as a member of the inaugural class of the university’s College of Dentistry. Following in his father’s footsteps, he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in May 1966.

In June 1961, Jim married Nancey Belle Edmonds in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Upon his graduation from dental school, they made their home in Frankfort, and Jim established his dental practice. He practiced general dentistry for over 32 years, retiring in 1998. During his career, he served as a member of the Kentucky Board of Dentistry (1975-1983) and as president (1977-78). In 1981, he was elected president of the Southern Regional Testing Agency, the organization responsible for licensing dentists in four states, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and Arkansas. He was active in professional organizations including the Bluegrass Dental Society and the Kentucky and American Dental Associations. His professional contributions were recognized by his colleagues with his selection as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the world’s oldest and largest honor society for dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an honorary dental service organization.

Following his retirement, Jim served as a trusted advisor for the Slemp Foundation, a private foundation established to improve the health, education, and welfare of Lee and Wise County Virginia residents or their descendants. Most recently, Jim served as a member of the Advisory Board of the Frankfort Salvation Army.

Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancey; son Jim (Kelly) Smith of Lexington, Kentucky; daughter, Melissa (Alex) Jensen of Frankfort, Kentucky; and two loving granddaughters, Melissa Ann Smith and Virginia Elizabeth Sircy. He is also survived by three siblings, Professor Gary R. Smith (Janie) of Atlanta, Georgia; Mr. Sherrill G. Smith (Ruth) of Frankfort, Kentucky; Mrs. Sharon E. Pauley (Rodney) of Louisa, Kentucky; and his extended family including an aunt, several cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who was considered by his family as an elder statesman figure who always seemed genuinely interested in learning about the latest accomplishments of even the youngest members of his clan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, from 2-4 PM at the South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, Frankfort, Ky. followed by a memorial service at 4 PM. Burial will take place on Sunday, February 7, 2 PM at the Slemp Family Cemetery in Turkey Cove, Virginia.

Ruth Ann Mathieu

1945 – 2016

Ruth Ann Branham-Mathieu, 70 of Louisa passed away on Thursday, Februry 4, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 27, 1945 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Earl and Alma LeMaster-Branham.

Mrs. Mathieu was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Louisa and was the retired business owner and President of Mathieu Timber Clearing.

Besides her parents Ruth was preceded in death by four brothers Bob, Charles, Jack and Kenneth Branham as well as one sister Jessie Huff.

Left behind to cherish her memory is a devoted and loving family including her husband Victor E. Mathieu, Sr. of Louisa; one daughter Jacqueline Mathieu-Woolum and her husband Olin of Winchester; two sons Victor E. Mathieu, Jr. and his wife Becky of Winchester and Robert Allen Mathieu and his wife Agnieszka of Louisa; one brother Earl Branham, Jr. of Louisa; four sisters Evelyn Turner of New York, Mary Bradley of Louisa, Bonnie Bryan of Catlettsburg and Ilene Thompson of Prichard; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren all of whom will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Young Funeral Home-Chapel with Father Michael Ramler officiating burial will follow at Yateville Cemetery in Louisa. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 am until the service hour at the Young Funeral Home-Chapel.

Donald Elza Vaughn

1945 - 2016

Donald Elza Vaughn 70 of Fallsburg, KY passed away Tuesday Feb. 2, 2016 at his home following a long illness.

Donald was born June 14, 1945 in Ashland, KY the son of the late Harry Bryant and Flora Ellen Elam Vaughn. He was a carnival worker.

Survivors include a daughter Donna Vaughn Duarte of Livemore, CA, two sisters Teresa Stidnam and Doris Howell both of Louisville, KY; four brothers Gene Vaughn of Florida, Jimmy Vaughn of North Carolina, Steve Vaughn of Oregon, and Paul Vaughn of Columbus Grove, Ohio, a niece Dorothy Vaughn of Fallsburg, KY.

In keeping with Donald’s wishes, he will be cremated.

Walter Collie 57 of Fort Gay, WV passed away Friday January 29, 2016 at his home following a long illness.

Walter was born Dec. 5, 1958 in Louisa, KY, the son of the late Junior and Ruth Bowens Collie.

Survivors include a son Walter “Joey” Collie of Genoa, WV, three sisters Linda (Danny) Crum of Stepptown, WV, Judy (Charles) Sammons and Jessie (Eugene) Justice all of Crum, WV, two brothers Larry (Hazel) Collie and Gary (Kimberly) Justice all of Fort Gay, WV.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Feb. 1st at 11:00 am at the Webb Community Church Webb, WV. Burial will follow in the Joe Sammons Cemetery at Webb, WV.

James Allen (Jimmy) Ramey 

1948 - 2016

James Allen (Jimmy) Ramey 67 of Blaine, KY died Saturday January 30, 2016 at his home following a brief illness.

Jimmy was born Oct. 9, 1948 in Blaine, KY to the late James Harrison Ramey and Lula Osborne Ramey. He was a retired telephone foreman and a farmer. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father James Harrison Ramey and one son Bobby Ray Ramey and one sister Gloria Marie Johnson.

 

Survivors include his mother Lula Osborne Ramey, his wife Rosemary Ramey of Blaine, KY. Three sons James Allen Jr. (Tonya) Ramey of Isonville, KY, Danny (Rhonda) Ramey and Joseph Michael Ramey of Blaine, KY, one daughter Gloria (Jason) Stepp of Morehead, KY; two step-children Rowena Smith and Jonathan King of Winchester, KY. Jimmy also leaves behind eight grandchildren Jazzmine Ramey, Wade Ramey, and Presley Ramey of Isonville, KY, Danny Gene Ramey Jr., Ben Ramey and Sophia Ramey of Blaine, KY, Andrew Stepp and Olivia Stepp of Morehead, KY. Three Step Grandchildren Viktor King, Matthew Smith, and Natalie Smith all of Winchester, KY. 

Jimmy is also survived by two brothers Bobby (Carol) Ramey and Larry Ramey all of Blaine and four sisters Wanda (Gene) Cordle of West Jefferson, Ohio, Nancy (James) Cordle of Blaine, KY, Jane (Cleve) Gillman of Westerville, Ohio and Debbie (Mike) Ferguson of Fort Gay, WV. Jimmy is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who all love him very much.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Feb. 1st at 2:00 pm at the Big Blaine United Baptist Church with Elders Eulas Adams, Phillip Caudill, and Charles Poe officiating. Burial will follow in the Ramey Cemetery at Blaine, KY.

Opal May 94 of Webbville, KY passed away Friday Jan. 29, 2016 at Three Rivers Medical Center following a long illness.

Opal was born April 26, 1921 in Johnson County Kentucky, the daughter of the late Levi and Elmina Kimber. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Morgan May who died in 1977.

Survivors include a son Morgan L. May and wife Sarah of Webbville, KY and a daughter Rita Carol Hutchison and husband Harold of Louisa, KY; three brothers Russell Lemaster, Hebert Lemaster, and Leonard Lovely, a sister Ruth Kimbler, 6 grandchildren , 10 great grandchildren, and a host of great great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday Jan. 31st at the Yatesville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jack Savage and Rev. Tommy Adams officiating.

Patricia Ann Myers, 74, of South Point, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV.

She was born June 14, 1941 in Fort Gay, W.V. a daughter of the late Otis Franklin and Elmira Vanhoose Webb. Patricia was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Brian Timothy Ferguson and Rodney Keith Ferguson; and one brother, Bennie Webb.

Patricia leaves behind, her loving husband, William M. Myers of South Point, Ohio; daughter, Robin Michelle Scott of Columbus, Ohio; son, Richard Lee Ferguson of Heilbronne, Germany; brother, Joe Douglas Webb of Kenova, WV; sister, Sandra Faye Napier of Prichard, WV; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 1 nephew and 2 nieces.

Funeral services for Patricia will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Scarberry officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV.

1941 - 2016

Jerry Milton Muncey 74 of Blaine, KY passed away Jan. 21, 2016 at his home following a long illness.

Jerry was born Aug. 27, 1941 at Stonecoal, WV the son of the late Milton and Viola Mullett Muncey. He was a retired mechanic.

Survivors include a daughter Rachel (Russell) Burton of Stone, KY; two sons Roscoe Muncy of Blaine, KY and John (Tina) Muncy of Evansville, IN; best friend and caregiver Shelby Lewis, a brother Ernest Marcum of Lovely, KY and a sister Delcie Jean Swartz of Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

Care was entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.

German Walters, 

 1915 – 2016


German Walters, Jr., 100 of Louisa, Kentucky went home to be with his lord on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home with his family at his side.

He was and he was born in Catlettsburg, Kentucky on September 26, 1915 and was the last surviving sibling of ten children born to German Walters, Sr. and Lena Hager-Walters.

Besides his parents and siblings German was preceded in death his wife Clara Bellomy-Walters; one son Buren and one daughter Mary.

German was a devoted Christian and a member of the Eloise United Baptist Church and the Favorite United Baptist Church during his time.

Mr. Walters leaves behind a devoted and loving family including five daughters Sonja Fairchild, Linda May, Jean LeMaster and Victoria Compton all of Louisa, Kentucky and Gladys Wood of Huntington, West Virginia; one son Larry Walters of Bellevue, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren and 7 great great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Young Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 1:00 pm with visitation from 10-1 pm on Sunday at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa.

The family would like to extend a sincere heartfelt Thank You to his caregivers who helped with his care in his last few years of his life. Margaret Bond, Sue Sloas and Debbie Burke all went above and beyond their duties as caregivers and were with German and his family at his time of passing.

Richard D. Cordial, 66, of Blaine, KY went to be the Lord on Sunday January 24, 2016 at his home following a brief illness.

Rick was born Dec. 9, 1949 at Lancaster, Ohio the son of the late Dennis and Virginia Schrummy Cordial. He was a retired Lawrence County Bus Driver and Assistant Pastor of the Cordell Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife Betty Runyon Cordial, three sons; James Richard and wife Brenda Sue of Ulysses, KY, Jason and wife Jennifer of Blaine, KY, and Jeremiah and wife Amy also of Blaine, KY; two sisters Dianne Boggs and Peggy Holbrook both of Blaine, KY; eleven grandchildren Whitley (Jeremy) Bird, Tia Cordial, Sarah Cordial, Ryan Cordial, Taylor Cordial, Wesley Cordial, Wyatt Cordial, Dakota Cordial, Sydney Cordial, Shyanna Cordial, and Dalton Cordial, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 27 at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Revs. Ronnie Childers, Roger Jordan, Luther Dingess, and Josh Ramey officiating. Burial will follow in the Cordial Cemetery at Blaine, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday January 26 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Denise Thompson

1968-2016

A loving Angel taken too early. Denise Thompson, 47 of Marion, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016.

She was born in Louisa, Kentucky on November 6, 1968. 

Denise was loved by all who knew her and she cared for and worried for everyone. Her heart was as pure as the “snow” and this world will never be the same without her. 

Denise leaves behind a loving and devoted family to mourn her passing including her husband Keith Thompson, Sr. of Marion, Ohio; daughter Kristen Begin and her spouse Paul of Marion, Ohio; son Keith Thompson, Jr. of Hilliard, Ohio; grandchildren Aaliyah, Alexis and Paul, Jr. (Little Man); her parents Dennis and Diana Thompson of Hilliard, Ohio; sister Donna Abu-Rayyan and her spouse Sadalah of Grove City, Ohio; brother Dennis Thompson, Jr. and his spouse Shawn of Pickerington, Ohio; nieces Zahra, Zainab and Hadeel; nephews Hasan, Trey (Dennis Thompson, III) and Mohammed as well as numerous extended family and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at Young Funeral Home Chapel, 201 W. Main Street, Louisa, Kentucky on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Randy Smith and John Brewer, Jr. Officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 am until service time on Tuesday at Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Vesta Pauline Kitchen, 82, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Jordan Center in Louisa, Ky.

She was born February 14, 1933 in Louisa, Ky. a daughter of the late Carl Moore and Jetti Berry. She was a Homemaker and was of Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William D. Kitchen Sr., whom passed away in 2011; son, Thomas Michael Kitchen; granddaughter, Stacey Diamond.

Josephine West Perry 

1949 - 2016

Josephine West Perry 66 of Louisa passed away Jan. 16, 2016 at J. J. Jordan Care Center following a long illness.

Josephine was born Aug. 9, 1949 the daughter of the late Noah and Mertie Ferguson West. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter Robin Jo Ferguson, a son Clayton Parker Ferguson, and a brother Claude West.

Survivors include a daughter Valerie Ferguson Gallion of Willard, KY, a son Andrew Noah (Sheila) Ferguson also of Willard, six brothers James, Gene, Floyd “Buck”, Don, Paul and Eddie West; three sisters Edith Walker, Leatrice Kelly, and Lana Wright; grandchildren Andrea Jo Ferguson, Keisha Jolynn Ferguson, Sammy Lee Gallion, Jesse Dean Gallion, and Dustin Allen Gallion; two step grandchildren Christopher Dale Oney and Brandon Scott Oney; great grandchildren Payton Gallion, Parker Ferguson and Harper Ferguson.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday Jan. 20 at Yatesville Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 2:00 pm Wednesday until time of services at the Wilson Funeral Home.

1956 - 2016

Douglas Eugene Stambaugh, 59, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at his home.

He was born September 26, 1956 in Paintsville, Ky. a son of the late John and Margaret Rose Dickerson Stambaugh. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Fallsburg Tabernacle Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Andrew Stambaugh.

Survivors include his loving wife, Penny Burchett Stambaugh of Louisa, Ky.; two sons, Raymond Douglas Stambaugh and David Eugene Stambaugh both of Louisa, Ky.; two grandchildren, Andrew Douglas Stambaugh and Christopher James Waddle; two brothers, James Stambaugh of Paintsville, Ky.; Joe Stambaugh of LaGrange, Ky..

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Fallsburg Tabernacle Church with Pastor Greg Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at the Burchett Cemetery, Louisa, Ky.

Visitation will be Noon til time of services on Thursday, January 21, 2016.
