Kentucky already has lax laws when it comes to hunting coyotes, with no limit set and allowing the use of bait and electronic calls. But, House Bill 60 will expand the laws to allow hunting at night.

Rep. Fitz Steele filed the bill in this year’s legislative session, which passed through both houses with little opposition; and now it sit awaiting a final signature to pass it into law.

The bill will allow hunters to use spotlights or night vision equipment to hunt the critters at night, when they are most active. The law would limit night hunters to shot gun use only, but only during non-deer hunting seasons.
