Coleman Perry
1929 - 2013
Coleman Perry, 84, formerly of Louisa, Ky. passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Lexington, Ky. He was born May 5, 1929 in Lawrence County, Ky. a son of the late Ray and Jesse Vaughan Perry.
Coleman was a former Jailer of Lawrence County, retired local businessman, member of the First Baptist Church, and a Mason for 45 years. He was married to the late Jewell Perry for 62 years. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four sisters, Elsie Scarberry, Gladys Ratliff, Nadine Jarrell and Helen Belcher; five brothers, Donald, David, Charles Ray, Harold Gene, William Arnold Perry and Step mother, Molly Clay Perry.
Survivors include, two sons, Ron and Dreama Perry of Paris, Ky.; Randy and Kim Perry of Louisa, Ky.; two brothers, Jimmy Ray (Wife Terry) Perry of Plain City, Ohio; John Mack Perry (wife Betty) of Statesville, N.C.; four sisters, Janice and Ron Winn of Plain City, Ohio; Charlene Salyers of Louisa, Ky.; Rose and Bob Wiseman of Columbus, Ohio; Dreama and Gene Phellps of Plain City, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ronnie and Erin Perry of Lexington, Ky.; Desiree Craig of Los Angeles, CA.; Several nieces and nephews; three great grandchildren, Colson, Corbin, and Camden Perry.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ric Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00 til 9:00 PM Wednesday at Young Funeral Home Chapel.
Charles Lee Parsons Sr.
1941 - 2013
Charles Lee Parsons Sr., 72, of Genoa, W.V. passed away at his home May 18, 2013, he was born and raised in Wayne County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Belva Smith and father Everett Parsons and two children, Patricia and Rhoda Ann, one brother, Paul York and one sister, Jean Sheffield.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy (Bowen) Parsons and children, Charles (Pete) Parsons Jr. and wife Wealthy; Billy Jo Parsons and wife Gina; Danny Lee Parsons of Huntington; Tammy (Parsons) Jackson and husband Ira of Genoa; Charlene (Parsons) Haynes and husband Dale of Genoa; Earl (BoBo) Parsons of Genoa and one ex. Daughter-in-law Tabitha Parsons of Ohio. Charles raised two of his granddaughters, Robin and Donna Parsons of Genoa, Charles had a total of 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, he is also survived by six sisters and two brothers and a host of friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Rush Branch Church with Pastor Tom Kitts officiating. Burial will follow at the Parsons Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Monday and all day Tuesday at Rush Branch Church.
Emmitt Nelson Ratliff
1936 - 2013
Emmitt Nelson Ratliff, 77, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born May 2, 1936 in Elliott County, Kentucky a son of the late Paul and Esta Sparks Ratliff. He was a retired teacher of Mayo State Vocational School after serving 24 years of service, and he was a retired United States Navy Veteran with 20 years of service and was Kentucky Colonel. Emmittt attended the Spencer Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Ratliff of Louisa, Ky.; one daughter, Terry (Lance) Compton of Louisa, Ky.; one brother, Silas Ratliff of Louisa, Ky.; three grandchildren, Mikel (Heather) Compton, Brandy (Heath) Preston, Taud (Cristy) Compton all Louisa, Ky.; 10 Great Grandchildren, Mason, Miles, and Sophia Preston, Drew, Molly, Katie, Shelby, Hadley, Hannah and Tate Compton.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Ross and Pastor Terry Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Yatesville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4:00 til 9:00 PM Monday at Young Funeral Home Chapel.
