Kentucky's gasoline tax to go up 2 cents a gallon on July 1;
Kentucky drivers have seen declining gas prices in recent weeks. But that will change about 2 cents worth starting July 1.
That's because state law mandates that the gas tax go up 2.1 cents per gallon on that date.
The increase is automatic since it's tied to the average wholesale price of gas.
It's estimated the increase will generate about $57 million for Kentucky's road fund.
