Lawrence Co. man busted while waiting for drug delivery;
Martin Wright(Ashland, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested a Lawrence County resident after conducting an investigation into illegal drug activity by the suspect. Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland arrested Martin W. Wright, age 36, of San Branch Road, Louisa, KY at his residence on 6-14-2012 around 10:30 AM. Wright was charged with one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Jail.
The violation occurred on 6-12-2012 when KSP troopers made a controlled delivery of intercepted narcotics (pills) to the residence of Martin Wright. The narcotics had been shipped from an undisclosed location to Wright. The delivery took place at the Valero Gas Station just South of Louisa on US 23. Wright was awaiting the delivery and was operating his State Highway vehicle when the delivery took place.
Warrants were obtained by KSP undercover detectives earlier today and he was arrested at 10:31 this morning.
KSP Detectives are continuing the investigation.
UPDATE: (June 21, 2012), Wright will be arraigned in Lawrence District court at 9:00 am, July 24, 2012.
