Johnson County route closed up to two weeks to repair roadway break
JOHNSON COUNTY – June 8, 2012 – KY 3391, Hammond-Whitehouse Road, which connects KY 40 to KY 581 in Johnson County, will close Monday morning, June 11, and could remain closed for as long as two weeks, according to Tim Spencer, an engineer with Highway District 12’s Paintsville Section Office.
doh_signSpencer said that repairs to the roadway approximately one and four-tenths of a mile from its intersection with KY 40 start Monday morning at seven o’clock. Work is scheduled each week day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
“We are aware that this may cause some temporary inconvenience for folks,” Spencer said, “but we hope that everyone will be patient and understand that we are working to make the roadway safer. We do not intend to disrupt traffic any more days than necessary and, if weather conditions and other factors remain favorable, we may be able to finish in less than 10 working days. We certainly will if we can!”
