Good news for women without health insurance:

The Kentucky Women’s Cancer Screening Program provides free or low cost mammograms and Pap tests through the health department in every county. These services are available for women age 21- 64 who do not have health insurance. For a limited time, receive a $10 gas card with your Women’s Cancer Screening at the Lawrence County Health Department.

Through the Department of Medicaid, Kentucky offers treatment coverage for women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer or precancerous conditions. To be eligible for treatment coverage, a woman must:

• Be screened through the local health department

• Be between the ages 21 -64

• Be below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines

• Have no other third party payer source

• Provide a Social Security number

• Not be housed in a public institution

• Be a resident of Kentucky

• Be a U.S. citizen or qualified alien
