Lawrence County deputy, policeman make drug arrest using cannine 'sniffer'Lawrence County deputy, policeman make drug arrest using cannine 'sniffer'

LOUISA, Ky. -- A Boyd County man was charged with drug possession, driving under the influence, no registration and driving on suspended license after police observed him driving erratically on HWY 32 Tuesday night.

Harry Faughner and his passenger, Sandra Johnson, were arrested by Steven Wilburn of the Louisa Police Department and Lawrence County Deputy Sheriff Chuck Jackson.

Police found an injection needle and pills on Faughner and Johnson was arrested on past warrants.

Dep. Jackson had Lea, the canine unit the Lawrence County Sheriff's office keeps available, on hand to search the vehicle.

Several field sobriety tests were performed on the suspect who did not pass, according to Wilburn.

Both were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
