Mavis Lucille Thompson, 81, of Fort Gay, West Va. died May 4, 2012.  She was born May 8, 1930 to Fred and Jennie Rice Thompson of Vinson Branch, W.Va.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bud Thompson.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Sue Nix , and one grandson, Christopher Paul Nix, both of Fort Gay, W.Va.

Funeral services will be held at the Fort Gay Baptist Church on Monday, May 7, 2012 , at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Maynard  officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery, Ft. Gay W.Va. under the direction of Young Funeral Home, Louisa, Ky.

Visitation is Sunday from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at  the Young Funeral Home in Louisa, Ky.
