Combs named one of 36 best in state by Bluegrass Preps;

Continuing our tradition of leadership in Kentucky high school sports information, news and discussion, announces our ninth annual Football Team. honors the state's top 36 players, starting with the best players at 12 offensive and 12 defensive positions. The team also recognizes 12 players whose versatility and all-around contributions on offense, defense and special teams embody the spirit of high school football, a feature that makes it unique among other honors.

Q&A with 'Big Country' Tyler Combs:

John - Where does this award stand compared to the rest you have received?

Tyler - Well to me, anytime the words All-State is mentioned in an award, it's pretty special. It's really mind blowing to think that you are one of the top players in the whole state of Kentucky, that means alot to me.

John - Do you look at this as a individual award that gets recognized bigger than All-State...if so or if come?

Tyler - In my eyes All-State is the biggest, that's just something I've worked towards my high school career and I was absolutely excited to accomplish that goal.

John - Are there any accomplishments in your high school career that you wish you'd captured?

Tyler - Every high school athlete in the country wants to win a state championship, so of course I would love to have a ring on my finger. Oh well, things didn't work out that way.

John - How do your parents feel & think of everything you have done just this year & going to Marshall next season?

Tyler - They're just ready to get me out of the seriously they have always been behind me in everything I did. I really couldn't ask for any better parents. They are really excited about me being able to have the oppurtunity to play at Marshall. Everything in our home seems to have changed from red & black to all green.
