Lora "Cookie" Roberts Reynolds


Lora "Cookie" Roberts Reynolds, 70, of Louisa passed away August 4, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.  She was the daughter of the late Webb and Thelma Ball Roberts, and was preceded in death by her brother, Willis Roberts.  Cookie was a graduate of Louisa High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Huntington , WV.  She began her nursing career in Gulf Port, Mississippi at Gulf Port Memorial Hospital.  Later employed at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. as night supervisor, Kings Daughter Home Health, then retiring after 32 years from Pathways Mental Health Center in Ashland, Ky. , as there she was a mental health director.  She was a member of the Louisa United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Glen Rowe of Louisa, her daughter Nicki "Mike" Ryan of Lexington, Ky. ; son Jimmy Reynolds of Ashland, Ky.; two grandsons Reese and Rhett Ryan of Lexington, Ky.;six sisters, Marty "Herb" Thompson of Ravenswood, WV., Sally Whitaker of Lexington, Ky., Mackie "Bob"  Crum of Fallsburg, Ky., Linda Dahlman of Lexington, Ky.; Doshia "Ab" Vanhoose of Lexington. Ky., and Mary June "Don" McBride of Lexington, Ky.; one brother Freeman "Cindy" Roberts of  Fallsburg, Ky.; 25 nieces and nephews; and numberous great and great great nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Young Funeral Home Chapel in Louisa, Ky.  Visitation will be Sunday from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. service time.  Burial will follow in the Roberts Family Cemetery, Fallsburg, Ky.

I'm so sorry that I didn't get to go to the viewing of Cookie. She was a neighbor for many years as I grew up. Nicki and Jimmy were great friends to me and spent many a day with them. Love to both you guys and your families.

My love and prayers to all the Robert's family. Sorry I couldn't attend Cookie's services. I love you all very much. Cookie will be missed by all who knew her. She was a beautiful lady from a wonderful family.
