Dr. Timothy Yoost, Urologist at Three Rivers Medical Center was the speaker at the Louisa Rotary meeting on Thursday, June 23.
The focus of his speech was a new UROLIFT procedure for men with prostate issues. The UROLIFT System is a revolutionary treatment that provides a rapid and durable relief from the bothersome urinary symptoms associated with BPH. It is clinically proven to be safe and effective and can improve symptoms better than what is reported with medication.
The System works by the doctor placing a small, permanent implant into the prostate to lift and hold the enlarged tissue out of the way relieving pressure on the urethra and allowing urine to flow. There is no cutting, heating, or removal of prostate tissue required which means a minimally invasive, straightforward procedure and less downtime for patients.
Dr. Yoost stated that he has done approximately 20 of these procedures in the last three months with no complications and each individual is happy with their results. Dr. Yoost also stated that he had not had anyone turned down by their insurance with this procedure.
The next part of the meeting was introducing a Jr. Rotarian Scholarship recipient, Maddy Meade. With the announcement of the next meeting being on a houseboat on Yatesville Lake, the meeting was adjourned.
